It may take a couple of minutes to go up, but just enjoy it. Walking up or down is an exhaustingly long way on a loose gritty surface - don't do it!
The exhibition in the Napoleonic fort is interesting and worth a look. Go upstairs, it feels as if the city defenders have just left. No written explanations are needed, and thankfully this was understood by the museum curators.
Stay for the sunset - cafe prices are no different to those in the city below - and the view is glorious.
