“What, no food?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

Spectacular trip up and down. The views from the top are breathtaking. However, the restaurant that likes to say that it has the best views in the Adriatic, had no food??? I think that we were a bit early for the start of the season

“Well worth the trip...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2013

I'm not the best at heights but I had nothing to worry about. The cable car trip was short, smooth and offered a fantastic view of Dubrovnik and the surrounding islands. The cables are naturally in view as you go up but there's a great viewing platform at the top and if you're able to walk (you don't need sturdy shoes, I did it in flat sandals), then opt for the single trip so you can enjoy the walk down (if you walk to Fort Imperial where the Homeland War exhibition is go towards the entrance and then walk past it to the right of the building, the path down starts from behind the Fort there). Better still, if you want to find out more about Dubrovnik and its more recent history, pop into the Fort and its Homeland War exhibition - we weren't going to do this originally but once we got there, changed our minds.

It's also a good idea to take a wander further to the right of the Fort and follow the path/road - in a matter of minutes, you'll get a great view of the Lopud area.

All in all, the cable car is definitely worth a visit - better still if you walk back down, it's a graduated stone path down the hill and then goes through woodland/pines. You get some lovely views throughout the walk.

“This should be top of your list!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013

Go in the late afternoon when the sun is near setting and then watch the sun and shadows over the roofs of the Old Town with a pint of cool lager and a view to store away for those grey days and dark nights in England.
If you went to Dubrovnik and missed this trip then you would be very sorry when you learnt what you missed

“Magnificent views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

Well worth the trip - magnificent views over the old City, the peninsula of Lapad, the coastline and its many islands, and inland to the snow-clad peaks stretching into the distance (this was March!) An attendant travels in the cable car - which for those who are a little nervous is very reassuring! There are viewing terraces at the top, and a restaurant with panoramic views.
A very enjoyable afternoon.

“Experience Dubrovnik and the Adriatic from the bird's eye view -- stunning!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

In my opinion, this is an absolute dont' miss. Plan to take the cable car up the mountain so you're there well before sunset. Have a snack or drink in the outdoor restaurant, relax and enjoy one of the most spectacular views around. If it's chilly, as your waiter for a blanket. We were able to stay much longer as the chilly breeze picked up at sunset. We hung out for several hours and soaked in the beauty of the crystal blue water and the magnificence of the changing sky as the sun set over the Adriatic. If you're a person who likes to pack in a lot in a short period of time, definitely take the ride up, walk around, see the views and head back down. But, if you're a person who loves to relax and truly soak up the beauty of the surroundings, you can spend several hours up here. I would love to have stayed after sunset to watch the lights, but we were there in October and it was starting to get chilly.
