“Central Old Town”
Reviewed June 25, 2013 via mobile

Very welcoming staff, couldn't do enough really to look after the five of us - seated under the archway, the food and wine were excellent - not expensive with fresh catch available. Great little location just off the main walk through and away from the crowds - seating outside for about 20 people only so get there early evening. There's no rushing you though and you're quickly back to the main town when you're done - 10/10

“We arrived to early”
Reviewed June 20, 2013 via mobile

We arrived at this place by chance and we're glad we did. Greeted with a complimentary grappa, which blew the cobwebs away, we were seated under the arch away from the very hot sun.

The specialty dish of meat under the bell is cooked fresh every day and is ready at 7. We arrived at 6:15 and we're advised that this was the best dish but would not be ready until 7.
Never mind, I had the civiche and my wife had the beefsteak.
Civiche was lovely, really tender fish cured with a great sauce, served with potatoes.
The wife's steak was served with a dark and rich sauce with gnocchi and mash, roast onion and aubergine. We chose not to order a sweet as we had eaten during the day but we're presented with a further complimentary sweet each. Mine was a pancake and the wife had a creme caramel.
If it wasn't for the fact we are going home we would come back again.

The only reason this is a good instead of excellent is that the star dish was not available.

“Beautiful ambience outside, expensive though”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

Be aware that a "service charge" is included in your bill. It was a nice meal but KA-CHING! About 450 Kuna for two of us with only one drink each.

“A lovely surprise”
Reviewed May 24, 2013 via mobile

We fell upon this restaurant just walking down a side street from the Main Street in Dubrovnik. We were passing and were told about the special, a typical Croatian dish. Beef slowly cooked in red wine, orange juice and plums served with mashed potato and roasted veg. I am pretty picky but it sounded amazing and it was! We also received complimentary fish pâte hors d'oeuvres and complimentary sweet pancakes. We once again ordered Posip having tried it the previous night and loved it. A memorable meal, lovely atmosphere and fabulous service.

“Renaissance Restaurant Dubrovnik”
Reviewed May 23, 2013

We just had the wonderful lamb and pork under the bell. Amazing the meat was so tender. Christina our host was amazing. We can highly recommend this Restaurant it isn't cheap but we wouldn't say it was expensive either, the wine complimented our meal perfectly, Christina was very attentive and made us feel special as if we ate there every night and were old friends. Do drop in and say hello to Christina...
