We stayed at the Villa Borna for three days after a two week trip traveling the coast and driving to Bosnia. We had a difficult time finding the property and asked a number of people of the street as the signs were hard to follow from the way we entered. The picture of the beach shown on Trip Advisor is somewhat deceptive. We thought this would be the beach view from the property and it would be a great way to end our trip. Actually the walk to the beach is about 15 minutes down a path. We had the top unit (70 steps up) which was very private and on the same level as the pool with a distant view of the Adriatic. The property is in a residential area about a hilly 10 minute walk to the bus stop and a 10 minute ride to Old Town (cost 12 kuna one way). Parking was right in front of the building and it was a short walk to a grocery store at the end of the block....The store was one of the few in Dubnovnik that took credit cards so it was a great place to buy wine and cheese to take home.

The apartment is only a couple of years old and is well appointed and very clean. Wi-fi worked well, we enjoyed getting clean towels on day three, and Martin and his wife and son very very attentive to our questions.

Room Tip: Top apartment has a great deck but many step to get to it.

Stayed for 3 days, Dubrovnik is a small city so getting about is easy, made even better if you have a hire car. Martin our host could not be more helpful, he has learnt from previous reviews and made changes, it was a joy to stay here, would highly recommend.

Stayed in Villa Borna for 2 weeks in August 2011. I honestly cannot fault anything about this place. The accommodation is top class, clean, tidy and maintained. The location is excellent for Lapad and is just a short spin on the bus to the Old Town. Martin the host was excellent and helpful. The place is like a home away from home and I would recommend to anyone. I may even get the chance to return someday!

Room Tip: Apartment 9 has a big private sun terrace that is not overlooked, fab! And pool on same level!

My family stayed here for 5 nights in 3 apartments. Although differing a little in size each one is well appointed and spotlessly clean. We all ate together outside on the terrace. We found Maritn to be a great host and was keen to do anything to ensure we had a good stay. It is situated a short walk away from the bars and restaurants in Lapad and the bus stop for the old city is also only a short walk. The No. 6 bus takes about 10/15 mins to the old city. It was nice to come back after a day sightseeing and use the pool. There is a well stocked supermarket (open 7 days 7am -9pm) about 3 minutes walk.

It has a spectacular view from the top of a hill where you can see the water and the city. Martin is a little bossy as he is a German (as he say) and everything must be in place (no pool after 22:00, curtains must be closed when the sun is bright and the cooler is on-just to save energy). Everything was clean, the kitchen had all the tools you need.It is indeed close to a beach.

Our room was spacious, clean and Martin was a fantastic host. We enjoyed the view from the pool and our room. Old town is just minutes away by cab and we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at a restaurant of Martin's recommendation. He was also so kind as to take us to the airport, thanks again Martin!

The flat is decent and not wonderful. The price is, definitely, too high for the standard offered by Villa Borna.
At the beginning the owner seemed nice and kind, then he started to control everything, he went several times into the room when we were out to check that everything was ok.
I felt to have no more privacy and for that price it’s something just unacceptable.
Wifi connection does not work in the room, you have to go outside and sit on the stairs to get the signal, it costs 4 euro per night (another non competitive price).
If you want to waste money and loose your privacy the best place for you is..VILLA BORNA!
