My friend and I decided to stay at this place as there were no hostels around. He was kind enough to pick us up and drop us off at the bus station. The room was very clean and kitchen as well. Although missing a kettle to boil water, most things were supplied. As Stjepo was the only one working as "reception" and could only chat to him when you see him around, it was hard to organise a few things but overall a pretty good experience. A little pricey but good value considering Dubrovnik.

First off, I came here traveling here alone, so with that said...
GREAT Guesthouse. I booked the single. Stepjo, the host is nice and accommodating. He tells you everything you need to know about the area - what sights to see, what's the best prices, where to go on a sunny day, etc. The guesthouse itself has a lovely garden and is perched on the top of a hill. Lots and lots stairs to get here, but there are just a lot of stairs in the Dubrovnik area so that's not really a drawback. The room came with paper/plastic plates, utensils, and a mini fridge. The bathroom is also clean and modern. Overall a really good place to stay!

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in Sept 2011. We caught the overnight ferry from Italy and after working out the buses and finding the place, realised that our host was expecting us to call to be picked up! So make sure you let him know and save the bus hassle. The guesthouse was fantastic, there are two rooms side by side which share a really nice tiled terrace with a grape vine growing over and a little vege garden. Very nice for eating your dinner and enjoying the warm weather. The room was good size, the ensuite was good, and all was very clean. Our room had a fridge and a little gas top cooker. Just a short walk down the hill and there is one of the main streets with lots of restuarants, bars etc. From here you can catch the bus to the old town. Also at the end of this street is the sea with a little beach and rocks to go swimming from. Our host was fantastic, he spoke great english and was very funny. He was very helpful and gave us info on buses, places to go etc. He also dropped us off at the bus station which was great. Definately recommend staying here, as opposed to the noisey, crowded and expensive old town.

There has been some discussion in the forum about where to stay when visitng Dubrovnik. Old town or Lapad area? After giving a lot of thoughts, I decided to stay in Lapad. Less expensive accomodations and food. Quiet neighborhood. Easy and cheap to visit old town by bus. Close to main bus station from where one can take bus to the airport or other cities.

I stayed at Anna's guest house for three nights in September of 2011.
Booked at www.Hostelbookers.com
38 Euros for a single en-suite room.

Location: Velebitska 5, Dubrovnik. Google map shows this address. A nice quiet residential area of Lapad. 5 minutes walk to Lapad post office. You can go via small alleys with a lot of steps or by the street on which the buses go by. A Lapad beach also is 10 minutes walk.. Many reastaurants are loacted near the Lapad post office. Tommy's super market is also located there. Bus Stop for the bus to the old town only 2 minutes away on foot. About 12 minutes bus ride to the old town. One way fare is 12 Kunas if bought on the bus and 10 Kunas if bought from the ticket booth or a news paper Kiasok. All major tour company's buses for day trips also stop here at the Lapad Post Office bus stop. The harbor and the main bus station are less than 10 minutes by car trafic permitting.

Room: Single en-suite room was moden, clean and well furnished. It had a queen size bed. A closet with additional towels. A small table with tea/coffe machine and a small refrigerator. A/C with remote control. Modern bathroom with a shower was clean and moderate in size with all toletories. A patio in the rear of the house was covered with grape vines. Grapes were delicious too !

Owner Stejpo is very helpful. He will provide free transfers in his car from and to the main bus station. He picked me up at the bus station and dropped me off at the bus station at 4:50 AM! He can arrange airport transfer by private car for 25 euros.
He will give infromation about the site seeing and restaurants. He can also book the day trips at lower prices if you contact him ahead of the time. Truely a nice person and cares for his guest.

This guesthouse is located in Lapad in a quiet area but only 10 mins by bus to the old town. The owner is very friendly and will help you with whatever questions you may have re excursions, local information etc. The room was compact but contained everything you need including a fridge, cooker, kettle etc. Very clean and modern and good room temperature. Nice area just outside your room where you can sit at a table and eat breakfast etc overlooking garden. Would highly recommend this guesthouse. It is exactly as described.
