“Lovely restaurant albeit a bit of a climb”
Reviewed October 22, 2013

This is a lovely restaurant albeit there is a bit of a climb to get to it. We went twice in the week and it was the best place we went. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food was generally very good, Paella was brilliant, Fish stew very good, Surf and turf very good, King prawns good but could have done with a few more. Mussels were OK. Reasonable prices. We would go back.

“Very Disappointing!”
Reviewed October 21, 2013

We had dinner at Atlantic Kitchen as we were tempted by the menu offering fresh grilled tuna but on the night we ate this wasn’t available. The menu is translated into perfect English and it appears one of the staff is British.

We shared starter of a Mezze board, followed by homemade fishcakes. Food was ok but pretty basic English pub-style food – not what we expected in Dubrovnik. Wines were available by the glass but probably the poorest we had whilst in Croatia.

Service was ok but lacked warmth and our waiter didn’t speak at all, just nodded to acknowledge our order/request for the bill.

Cannot understand the positive reviews based on our experience - we wouldn’t return!

“A great find! And worth the steps up!!”
Reviewed October 18, 2013

We found this restaurant after noticing their notice board on the main pedestrian street of Lapad. The menu looked lovely so we tackled the steps up and were not disappointed! Very friendly waiters (who were always welcoming as we went back twice more), great value food and incredibly tasty!! We were always tempted by starters and main so left each time completely stuffed!! The French onion soup was one of the nicest ive ever had!
Would definitely recommend this restaurant :)

“DONT MISS THIS HIDDEN SECRET”
Reviewed October 17, 2013

We walked passed the chalked blackboard for a few days and always read it. As it was beside a set of stairs we did not go looking..............one day I made my other half "go find" the tavern, he did we went and the first evening I had surf and turf, wow the meat really was some if not the best Iv ever had and it came with two large langoustine's. I had a brownie for afters and it was home made and very yummy. The local wine is so good and we had some of that. The guys that run this very tavern are really nice and they found out on our second visit that it was my husbands birthday they gave him desert with a candle, nice touch also it was, along with a glass of wine each free. a gift on the house. How nice was that. In all we went 3 nights in a row and the food was fantastic as was the service. Do yourself a huge favour and get up that hill, its only a small one.......when paying the bill which was very reasonable we were given a shot of pear liquor, wow its fab and we went and bought some to bring home its local again and yummy. So all in all great food, wine and staff. GO.
