This restaurant is very nice and the staff were very friendly. My only gripe would be the wine we had nearly double the cost of the hotel which we thought was expensive. The waiter reccomended the wine which was 280 kuna (£30) when it arrived it was the same as the we had had in the Kolocep villa restaurant only we paid 150 kuna (£18) for it. So be careful when you order the wine! Otherwise good location, good service.

We esaped the ridiculously crowded streets and retaurants of Dubrovnik by taking the 30 min ferry to Kolocep for a late lunch at Villa Ruza. We were so pleased! We strolled up to the oceanfront restaurant on the quiet and peaceful island and were immediately made to feel special. Our waiter Valentino was very friendly and welcoming and helped to make the meal a special occasion; he was the perfect host. The food was excellent, so fresh and delicious, mostly caught around or grown on the island. The amuse bouche was unexpected and simple yet delightful. The monkfish carpaccio was AMazing! The house wine was just the right accompaniment to our meal. Some of the food was creative and surprising at times, and some was wonderfully classic and simple, yet to die for. Our only regret was being too full for dessert! This is a special place, do yourself a favor and get away from Dubrovnik for a few hours to Villa Ruza.

My review title says it all. While on a week long sailing trip, we anchored nearby and took our dinghy over to Villa Ruza. The restaurant is beautiful. A bit of advice, a reservation is needed for a nice table (this was a Saturday night so perhaps not the case the rest of the week), so we were seated at an interior table with no view, but were happy that they were able to accommodate us all the same. Beautiful restaurant, pleasant service, good food.

We were taken to and from the restaurant by speed boat - very James Bond! The setting on the waters edge on an island is simply gorgeous. The food was exquisite - the shared starters were sublime as was the fresh fish. The restaurant was candlelit and our birthday party celebrants had a wonderful evening. Thanks to the staff and to our 'personal' organiser, Andrew.

An absolutely stunning experience. I took my boyfriend for his birthday and the whole evening was just incredible. From the moment we arrived (and even before that when getting in touch) the waiter could not have been more friendly or helpful. He was willing to make suggestions without being too pushy or over attentive. We went with the wine he recommended and I then followed it up with every course he recommeded, each of which was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The view is truley breath taking and makes for an incredibly romantic setting. The staff continued to go out of their way to enhance our visit after our meal, offering us a complimentary drink and the option of sharing a boat ride home with another customer which was ideal. The boat ride just topped off what was an unbelievable evening. We found it difficult to find any really good quality food when in Dubrovnik so would most definitely recommend Villa Ruza to anyone heading that way.
