This hotel was great! It's a 3km drive from the old city walls or about a 60 kuna cab fare (around USD 12), depending on what you are looking for this distance may be a good thing or a bad thing. It is good if you want to stay a little removed from the hussle of Dubrovnik, but I suppose if sleeping right in the middle of the old city is a priority for you, then this is not the place. The hotel was very clean and appealing. They had 3 different charming socialization areas (the pool, upstairs terrace, and downstairs breakfast courtyard). However, the best thing about the hotel in my opinion was the service. I felt like the service in Croatia in general at the different bars/restaurants/hotels we stayed was very hit or miss. Often you might run into behaviour that is plain rude. At this hotel, every single person on the staff that I interacted with (waiters, front desk, cleaning ladies, etc) were absolutely top notch. They were nice and helpful from top to bottom. I even had a problem where I intended to leave the hotel and return to stay an extra two nights, but the ferry ran out of space before I was able to purchase my ticket, so I had to change the dates of my stay. Some hotels might give you some trouble with this type of situation, however they gladly changed the nights of my stay without attempting to charge me for it. I recommend this place.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Everywhere was very clean and the service was excellent. The breakfasts were great you could have anything you wanted. We ate there on one night and again the food and service was great.
It has easy access into the old town with the bus stopping just outside the hotel. We also did a boat tour to the islands from the harbour just outside the hotel.
Our room was big enough and well equipped but seemed to be poorly laid out- this meant that it felt a bit cramped. I sure that if it was rearranged it would have felt a lot bigger. The aircon was also a bir noisy but it was 35 degrees outside. The room was kept very clean and tidy by the maid service.
Overall we really liked this hotel as it provided luxury on a small scale which we prefer to large hotels.

High quality small hotel whose service, staff and attention to detail must all rate 5-star. The standard rooms are not large but the home-from-home feel of the rest of the hotel means you'll spend little time there. a small library, and courtyard as well as open rooftop terrace with small bar attached were never occupied while I was there. Gorgeous swimming pool which was largely unoccupied, affording hours of lounging and dipping only occasionally disturbed by courteous staff asking if we needed any snacks or drinks. The complimentary breakfast has to be mentioned, no menu, just ask for what you'd like - that's after the coffee and individual fruit plate of course - wonderful.
Nice location in Lapad district, near water and walking distance to beaches - after a few hours in the teeming centre of fantastic old Dubrovnik you'll appreciate this oasis of calm.

Dear corkdrygin,

I think you have encapsulated everything we stand for with your feedback - a high quality 5-star hotel on a nice location with great facilities.
I am glad as well that you liked the way our staff functions: courteous and discreet. Well, this is exactly what we want our service to be: friendly, extremely helpful but unobtrusive. It is great that you recognized it.
Thank you so much from the whole Kazbek team for your very positive review.
We certainly look forward to the opportunity of welcoming you back again in the near future.

We stayed at Hotel Kazbek for a week on our holiday in Dubrovnik. This is a small and very classy hotel with excellent facilities including a lovely swimming pool and very comfortable bedrooms. The breakfasts were excellent with waiter service where nothing was too much trouble, but the stand out feature of this hotel is the friendliness of the staff, always willing to help and with a friendly welcome whenever you return. The hotel is a ten minute bus ride from the gates of the city but well positioned on the marina, opposite where the cruise ships dock. This means you can look out in the morning to see whether there are any ships visiting, and then decide whether to avoid the city if it looks like it might be overwhelmed with cruise passengers!
I only wish there was a Hotel Kazbek in every city I wanted to visit!

We stayed at Kasbek for three nights at the end of a trip along the coast. It is certainly a luxury establishment and the service and attention we received in our arrival was fantastic. The pool area is lovely to lounge around but the drinks service did seem to be a bit sporadic. On our last night we decided to eat at the restaurant after spending the day sailing around the islands on the hotel yacht ( definitely worth spending on as it was terrific to have such a fabulous vessel at our exclusive disposal). We weren't massively hungry but we were keen to try dessert so we just ordered a couple of glasses if wind and two mains. The drinks came, and eventually some bread, and then we waited. And waited. For an hour before my husband got up and walked inside to find out what the delay was. During this time no one had checked to see if we needed more drinks or to advise why it was taking so long. When the meals did arrive they were not worth waiting for, so we advised the staff if our disappointment (who apologised profusely) and went off to bed. The next day we were checking out and were advised that we were not being charged for the meal, and would also have 10% taken off our total bill. The marketing manager also came to apologize for the poor service and meal. This was excellent and even though we would gave much preferred to just gave a great meal in the first place, we understand that every kitchen can have an off night, but it's how a business handles a customer's disappointment which indicates how seriously it wishes to maintain it's standards and reputation. Kasbek clearly does and we appreciated having our complaint recognized and recompensed.

Dear Kateelder

Thank you for staying with us and for sharing your experience with other TripAdvisor users. I am delighted that you found our hotel lovely and I am pleased too that you enjoyed your day on our sailing boat.

We do fully understand your comments about your experience with our restaurant and we truly apologize for all the inconveniences. Just like I told you in my personal e-mail we had some technical issues that evening which made a big confusion in our kitchen and the restaurant. Fortunately with a new organization in our food and beverage department and re-training of our staff the situations such that evening should therefore never occur. Please believe us that our guest's satisfaction is our main goal and we are very, very disappointed about the terrible situation in our restaurant that evening. Once again please accept our deepest apology.

We do hope you will give us another try and that you will stay with us again soon.
