My girlfriend and I stayed at Villa Busovina based on the excellent reviews we had read on tripadvisor and in no way did it disappoint.

Slavica and her husband were excellent hosts, they were extremely helpful and uninstrusive. They were very informative in the e-mail contact leading up to our stay and answered our queries hastily. During the stay they were very warm, friendly and welcoming - they even brought us (delicious) fresh figs picked from the garden and said we were welcome to pick them for ourselves whenever we wanted.

The room itself (we stayed in Room 2) was lovely, far larger than it appears in the photos on the website and very clean. As for the location of the B&B, it is very near the old town and several beaches (although there are a lot of steps).

All in all a great trip and we would not hesitate to return and/or recommend it to friends.

Stayed here (room 2 I think...) in July to finish off an excellent 10 days in and around Dubrovnik. Definitely the nicest place we stayed in - spacious cool, clean room, lovely modern bathroom with plentiful hot water, lots of storage space, TV (which we didn't use) and access to the internet. Good kitchen facilities in the little outhouse and we paid for breakfast (cold meats, bread, cheese etc) at a reasonable additional cost. We only stayed for 3 nights and our bathroom was cleaned and towels changed during that period, which I was delighted by! Pleasant terrace area where you could eat or sit outside for a drink, although didn't get the sun. However, after 'long days' spent on the beach, we weren't really bothered.

As with everywhere in Dubrovnik there are steps. Our host helpfully pointed out the 'quick' route though and given that in the first place we stayed we had 460 steps, 100 wide steps seemed like nothing at all. 5 mins max to the Old Town (both ways!) and slightly further to Banje beach. As with all of the City there is quick access to public transport and taxis if you need them. The owners are very helpful and welcoming but not at all intrusive. Would highly recommend if you are looking for somewhere which is very comfortable but still good value, I think, to stay in and around the Old Town.

N.B a very helpful taxi driver at the Port rang ahead so we found it easily and didn't have to drag our suitcases up any steps. Might be worth just considering how/when you will arrive before setting off!

The reviews were very accurate, this is a wonderful place to stay for a few days to see the city of Dubrovnik. While it was by far the most expensive of our accommodations while we were in Croatia, the entire city is VERY touristy and everything from beer to coffee was a lot more expensive. We stayed in Apartment 5 which was very large and spacious. It is in the attic(with sloped ceilings) so tall people might not fare so well but it was fine for us!

Couldn't have asked for a better location 5 minute walk up/down some stairs, which were really not that bad, to the old city. When we had enough of the crowds and craziness it was wonderful to retreat to their lovely garden.

The room had a fridge in it, I had no issues with the wi-fi. However, we visited Dubrovnik during the heat wave and the air con wasn't always working at as well as we would have liked but it was a minor issue given it was the hottest period on record!

The hosts were lovely and the gardens and views over the old city were fantastic. Thanks again for a lovely stay.

Room Tip: The attic was stiffling in the summer and the air con couldn't really keep up

This is a lovely place to stay even though the steps up to it once you get off the bus just about wear you out. We were told by the owners when we arrived that we had chosen the steepest steps. The ones nearer the main rd are more graduated. The owners were friendly but not intrusive. The room was large and cool with efficient a/c. The bed was a little hard for our taste, but the only things that seemed to be missing were comfortable seats to chill out in and maybe a visitors book. Nothing to do with Villa Bosovina itself, but take mosquito spray ready for the silent but vicious mosquitos. We took the owners advice and went to Lokrum 50kn return and had a lovely day in the shade.

We had a lovely stay in Dubrovnik at Villa Busovina. Our hosts were friendly but unintrusive, they couldn't do enough for us and there was good communication via e-mail before our arrival. We stayed in room 2 which was spacious - the facilities were of hotel quality - with a fantastic view of the sea and across to the Old Town. If arriving by bus from the airport I would definitely recommend asking the driver if they will make an 'unofficial' stop outside Pinky bar which is a short walk to the apartment - we were given this advice by our hosts but didn't take it, a mistake given the number of steps we had to navigate from the Old Town with heavy cases! There is a fridge in the room but my partner missed not having access to tea making facilities. Breakfast was available for an extra cost but we didn't have this, choosing to buy pastries from local bakeries. A great apartment which offered us space and privacy.

I chose this accommodation because of previous trip advisor reviews and we were not disappointed. We stayed in room 5 (the largest of the rooms for rent) and it suited us down to the ground as we are used to a large bedroom at home and often find it impossible to keep out from under each others feet when we stay elsewhere. The room was full of character with eves and old beams, the bed was very comfortable there was a spacious hallway with a full length mirror a large bathroom with adequate facilities (although hot water was not always available) and it was all very clean. The air conditioning was simple and easy to use and the views from the quite high small windows were splendid; I really enjoyed sitting on the big wooden chairs by the windows and reading in the sunshine. Because we stayed 7 nights the owner very kindly had us picked up from the airport free of charge. We didn't participate in breakfast so I can't comment. The gardens and the patio area we just walked through but they looked pretty. A lot of people seemed to have problems with wif-fi connection and the TV but we really didn't go to Dubrovnik for this so again I can't comment (my husband was able to pick his e-mails and surf the net on his phone for £2 a day, which was fine by us.) When ever we saw the owners (who lived in the adjacent villa) they were absolutely delightful and nothing seemed too much trouble. As for the steps into town, we found these an absolute breeze and I don't have the best of backs. This villa is in perfectly situated, quitely at the top of the old town but within very easy walking distance to the main hussle and bussle; and it has the added bonus if you did find the steps too much of being able to just nip out the back and hop on a bus no problem. It is very homely and we loved its privacy.

Stayed for five days at this really lovely villa.

Pros:
• room 2 very large and spacious Including bathroom
• great views of the sea
• Slavica and rastko and adrienne lovely and warm!
• Breakfast adequate- serve yourself
• around 200 small steps up to the villa- pro for us so we could work off our dinner but might be a con for anyone who has trouble with steps!

Cons:
• Do make Sure you know what you are paying for- We were picked up from the airport to the villa for 30 euro- expensive if you Assume that it is a free pick up.
Breakfast is also charged at 6.50 euro pp.

• Unfortunately during our stay the wifi signal was down, and this affected our stay as we were out of touch with family and looking up places to go etc. Slavica kindly offered her laptop to use but wasn't as convenient as having unlimited access in your own room.

• Shower Water was often cold, even after asking for this to be fixed.

• slavica will give you the main door key but be warned- the door takes quite a wrestle with to get in!

Tips:
• drive to Mostar! Well worth a trip and stop by Blagaj. we rented a car for 45euro and paid 35 euro for full tank but only used half of it (we drove a car similar to ford focus)

• The local phone line telaviv is expensive to use, and without wifi connection we were going though credit very fast. Afew clicks on the Internet and all of the phone credit would dissapear.

• There is a shuttle bus from just outside the cable cars to the airport that runs throughout the day for 30kuna pp. Lovelt scenic route takes 30 minutes. Very cheap considering takes 30euro from airport to hotel on pick up!

• great seafood place that serves the lokanda platter for two- mussels, fish, prawns and bread. Just by the pier and mostly an open air restaurant.
