Stayed at Inn Bokun Guesthouse in 15-16 May 2013. Toni, the guesthouse owner, fetched us from the Dubronvik main bus station to his clean & well kept guesthouse nearby at Port Gruz harbour. He briefed us on the magnificent fortess of Dubrovnik and the bus ( any bus except bus no. 7) to take to get to the fortess entrance for a day tour which we greatly enjoyed . He gave us some good suggestions on the places to eat. We tried them and the Croatian food at Konoba Tabak was really awesome. The next day we took the 3 pm bus ride to Korcula Island reaching there at 6.15 pm.

Room Tip: Any room upside would be fine. All rooms without refrigerator but there is a refrigerator at the com...

From arranging pick up from the airport to cluing us in on the best things to take in during our time in Dubrovnik, Toni was the model of great host!

The guesthouse sits at the Gruz Harbor. There are ample places to get a coffee (white coffee is delicious there!) or a bite, and a grocer is a short walk away (Tommy's).

The convenience of Toni's Guesthouse is outweighed by the friendliness of Toni & his family. He was more than happy to talk about his city and give us pointers on places to check out. He even made special arrangements for us as we took the ferry to Bari at about 10pm.

It is a 15 minute walk to Old Town or the Pedestrian Walk on Lapad...but buses also cruise to either of these spots continually AND the walk is lovely.

We stayed in a suite with a kichenette and dining area. It was more than spacious and felt like a home away from home.

thanks Toni!

Room Tip: Either of the apartments are a great option with a small stove and fridge.

Really enjoyed my stay. Toni has great local knowledge which he is more than happy to pass on and makes you immediately feel welcome - as if welcoming you home. This beautiful guesthouse has a relaxed atmosphere and is close enough to walk to the Old Town and far enough from the port to not be overrun by coachloads of tourists. I would recommend this place to anyone and, indeed, have already begun spreading the word. Next year I'll be back with a friend.

A group of sailing friends stayed here last year and were so impressed with the hospitality of Toni and his family we had no hesitation in booking again this year for our party of 6 for 2 nights. The position is ideal overlooking Gruz harbour and a short walk to 2 excellent restaurants we would all recommend. Ottos is 5 minutes and offers a wide choice of dishes. Blidinje is 10 minutes and would particularly recommend the "Bell" dish of veal or lamb (requires 4 hours notice) but excellent and very reasonable price. If you need to do a supermarket shop we would recommend Tommys which is 5 minutes walk and helped us by delivering our supplies for the weeks sailing direct to our yacht at the Dubrovnik marina free of charge. Convenient 10 minutes bus ride into the city.
Toni provided us with excellent value breakfast on the garden patio seated under grape vines. He also arranged for a physio to attend to some aches and pains of 2 of our crew members and provided us with 6 litres of his most excellent vine from his own vineyard at a very reasonable price. This guest house is a gem at a very competitive price. Rooms are clean and the welcome made us feel at home. It is good to see continuing improvements to the accommodation from last year. All of our crew would stay here again and next time some may also bring their wives. Thanks Toni for providing a little oasis among the hustle and bustle of Dubrovnik.

Room Tip: Some rooms are on suite and I believe Toni plans to convert remaining shared bathrooms to en suite o...

Tony and his extended family have been at this location for 30 years, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. My son and I stayed in the first floor apartment, and it was a perfect location to sightsee the area. OK the old city is a 15 minute walk or short bus ride away, but that means the local shops, bars and restaurants don't suffer from the high pricing of the very touristy old city - in fact coffee is less than half locally compared to the old city!
Also, you MUST bear in mind that the walled city can get stiflingly hot and overcrowded in the peak months of July & August, so who in their right mind wants to stop there??!!
The guesthouse surroundings are sublime, with a well tended vegetable garden all around the property, and the family are all so friendly.
On top of this, cost for our 5 night stay - admittedly in quieter May - was very low, so I cannot recommend Bokun highly enough!

Room Tip: Apartments are excellent, giving the flexibility of making yourself tea or breakfast

We recently visited the Bokun Guesthouse in Dubrovnik and stayed in Apartment B which was on the ground floor with easy access to the lovely outdoor space. The apartment was perfect - bright, clean and comfy - and provided us with a home from home for the 4 nights we were staying. Toni is the perfect host - extremely helpful before and during our stay. He arranged for us to be picked up and taken back to the airport which was really helpful. He had some great tips for places to eat (especially Otto - highly recommended) and was generally just really friendly :-) Would highly recommend Bokun!!!
