It is a real difficult place to find but considering the number of people in the restaurant, it is a sign that people visit this place based on reputation. I had a beef dish that looked very plain but was surprised by the flavour when eating it. The service was good and the atmosphere was vibrant. The prices were reasonable although there are cheaper places

We visited this restaurant for first time in February this year and we can say everything was excellent. Thanks to people on TripAdvisor who recommended it.
The food was soo good (shrimps soup, shrimps risotto, pancakes...) staff was very charming and prices are reasonable so we decided to visit it once again in 3 days of stay.

This restaurant is located just north of the palace area. We visited when it was pouring rain, so we ate inside and were among all locals. This was the best meal of our whole visit in Croatia!!!

We started with the creamy scampi cream soup. It was so flavorful, creamy and delcious. The shrimp were perfectly tender.

Next, we ordered the special, which was deer ragout of red sauce over gnocchi, which tasted more like potato dumplings. Absolutely delicious.

We also ordered the green noodles with the sea fruit (shrimp, clams and mussels). The seafood was cooked perfectly and the sauce was very good.

They had very good house red and white wines.

It was a great experience, which I would recommend to anyone visiting Split.

Whenever I visit a city as a tourist, I try to avoid tourist places and restaurants and always trust tripadvisor recommendations. This recommendation was spot on! We visited the restaurant because of the nice reviews we saw and it was a great choice. It looks like a tavern (conoba) but the cuisine is authentic and croation. Hardly to see any tourists there (there is no way to find this place, unless you are looking for it) although it is very close to Zlatna Vrata. The majority of the people eating there are locals - a very good sign, when it comes to food. The menu was delicious - I tried the green tagliatelle with seafood, it was amazing! - and the portions were huge. Great choice, far better than the (so called) 'italian' restaurants located inside the palace. Definitely recommended!
