During our stay in Split we came here twice for lunch, sitting outside the first time and inside on the second occasion. Everything we had was lovely - the salads and fresh bread in particular we're extremely good. Though small menu and prices may appear high at a glance we found it's really no more expensive than elsewhere on the front and when we tried a fractionally cheaper place a few doors down we realised what we'd missed. Staff were friendly. Surprised by comment on tense atmosphere but if you sit outside you certainly wouldn't get this.
