We LOVED this hotel. We had been traveling through Croatia and her islands for a week and ended in Split. This was by far our favorite hotel on this trip. It was the most luxurious we stayed in and the staff was beyond helpful. In fact, we wished we had spent more time here.

Having just spent four nights at the Vestibul Palace, I was extremely impressed with the hotel and the service provided. The location is excellent, the rooms spacious and well fitted out and the welcome from the staff very warm. The hotel attracts well healed individuals, predominantly from the English speaking world, Japan and Scandinavia and the on-site team cater to their guests very well. This is a great little hotel and, from what I have seen of the others, is by far the best in the city.

We spent two nights at Vestibul Palace in May 2009 and were very happy to have booked this hotel. We booked a single room for double use (Room 4) and although the room was definitely small by North American standards, it was immaculately clean, had a funky decore and all the necessities.

It was a bit of a challenge to find the hotel as it is hidden in a quiet courtyard in Diocletian's palace. However, once we arrived, we couldn't have had a better experience. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the staff were friendly and helpful. Best of all, although Diocletian's palace would get very crowded with tourists throughout the day, Vestibul was peaceful and quiet. As an added bonus, at various times throught the day and in the early evening, groups of acapella singers would perform in the adjacent vestibul of the palace, and the performances could be heard perfectly from our room, which overlooked the vestibul.

The included breakfasts at Vestibul were not the biggest, but definitelty the best in terms of quality that we had in our three week trip through Turkey and Croatia. The fresh salads, warm chocolate or almond-filled croissants and made-to-order eggs were all excellent. We also particularly enjoyed the fresh cappucinos (as many as you wanted) served to you with breakfast in the courtyard.

Our stay at this hotel was one of the highlights of our trip and definitely worth the splurge. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone considering a stay in Split - the location and quality were both superb.

We can not believe this is only a 4* hotel!?! We've travelled around a lot, as part of travel business, but can not imagine they didn't apply for 5*deluxe category? There isn't the smallest thing that would say this isn't worth its price, the staff is excellent, rooms immaculate, design & furnicure heavenly, location (next to the Cathedral) great etc.
We are definitely recommending this hotel as a must experience while in Split! We are already telling everyone about its qualities, and injustice in stars ranking.
You can see each part of this "Palace" is created with love and style.
Enjoy it if possible!

My husband and I just returned from a trip to Croatia and spent 4 nights in Split at the Hotel Vestibul Palace. Used this site and other travel venues to make our accomodation choice and were extremely happy with the hotel. Small, intimate and the location couldn't be beat. We knew it would be a bit pricey but the location and morning meal made it worthwhile. We were able to walk to galleries, museums and restaurants without a problem. The must climb tower of the Cathedral is just right outside the doors of the hotel. Took a bus to the Roman Ruins in Salona, a bus stop only a short walk. We had dinner one evening at the Hotel Restaurant and weren't disappointed, little pricey, but we knew that from our Frommer Guide. We made arrangements with the Hotel for a airport pickup because we had a very late arrival. Our ride was ready and waiting with a great gentleman from the hotel, Bramovir. The rooms are not extremely large but comfortable and very clean. The hotel is unique and an oasis. Don't miss the opportunity to spend time on the Riva and people watch.
