Great location and very clean, but getting rather tired and needs a refit, good size rooms but mattress very soft and you fall to the middle.light bulbs missing in Bathroom, bedside lamp, and above dressing mirror, managed to get bulbs changed in bathroom but gave up after 4 attempts to get others changed.Asked for an other glass in bathroom and ended up with a wine glass.Breakfast very disappointing, restaurant looked like it was set up for a wedding, large round banquette tables no tables for 2 so ended up the 2 of us sitting at a 12 seater table.coffee and hot water urn were not plugged in resulting in luke warm coffee and tea bread stale, and whole area lacked atmosphere

The hotel had a good location, situated in the center of Split. The rooms were small and clean, the furniture was old, TV work fine and the air conditioning also. The elevator was very noisy. The breakfast was ok, however the dinner was not very good. The staff was very friendly.

I was in this hotel with my girlfriend. The friendly receptionist gave us a huge room with a nice balcony. We also recommend a great nightclub in the immediate vicinity. As I said the room was spacious, clean and air conditioned. Shower regularly, although not new towels were impeccably clean. Hotel has a nice terrace with wireless internet access, we really enjoyed the natural lemonade and ice cream. Breakfast is nothing special but a great choice for everyone, where you can find something. There were plenty of fruits and cakes. The next day we visited the old part of town. The friendly staff gave us instructions and a handy map with all the attractions that you must see. Our impression was excellent. So I plan to get the girl and the next summer, we will ask the same room!

This hotel has been an absolute highlight of our Croatian road trip. Truly enjoyed my stay for four nights. The room was great, very spacious, with nice furniture, and very clean. The staff was very helpful, especially the front desk - with great suggestions for night out and some cultural events. In Split, at the moment, there's a great festival with a very rich programme, and the receptionist helped us to buy the tickets for the opening ceremony even though it was sold out! This is well appreciated because you don't really get such individualised service. My friend, who's into opera, was amazed that we managed to see Nabucco and it wouldn't be possible without great staff. Thank you!
The breakfast was very good as well, a combination of international and British buffet, with a lot of delicious cakes and various fruit.
Truly recommend!

I had lunch the other day in Hotel President's restaurant during my lunch brake. The restaurant is on the ground floor, just behind the reception, down the hall. I ordered tomato soup, it was good (3-4 EUR), but the main course was poor. The beefsteak in green pepper sauce (19 EUR) was old, not juicy at all although it was medium grilled, and the sauce, well that isn't worth of mentioning, the liquid (watter-ish) look and taste, filled with little pieces of butter not melted enough, and not tasty a bit. I really expected more from a 4* hotel restaurant kitchen.
The staff saved the day as they were very pleasant.

Contrary to some reviews here we found the President to be very good. Room was big and spacious, and breakfast was well catered with good choices. Location was excellent with very short walk to Old Town and Palace.

Staff were really pleasant and helpful, with good advice on getting around and things to see. Based on our experience I would recommend, and would be happy to return for a further visit.
