We stopped here as part our cruise and it was nice. Very easy to get around and look, a lot of little shops and great resturants. We asked the locals where to eat and they were great to point us to the right places for lunch. I would skip the food you can get at home and go to the good Croatia resturants. We did a lot of walking and shopping, it's a nice afternoon trip. Some of the attractions do cost so be aware of that such as the church in the center and the tower. Does not take long to walk thru the city but don't forget to rub the big toe of the Patrot Saint of Split..brings good luck.
