If you have a little kids, this may be a perfect beach for you. It is a sand beach, with a broad shallow water area. For families, it is perfect early morning, while through afternoon, it get crowded, noisy and sea water itself looks 'muddy'. However, you may notice that it is not just a kids playing in the ankle-deep water. There is a popular local game called 'picigin'. It is some-what tradition. Rules are pretty simple: small 'tennis-like' size ball, few enthusiastic people to form a large circle and hit the ball with palm towards the air. The goal of the game is to prevent ball of falling in the water, but also hit it in the most jump-wise attractive way. Sounds weird, but it's pretty addictive actually. Locals also have their 'world championship in picigin', yearly. The beach is 5 min walk from main bus/train station, 20min walk from Riva Harbor and palace. Except it is great for 'picigin', locals love it because it is literary downtown. For braves, there are also cliffs for jumps and diving. In the evening, there is a good night life around a beach, and you may see a bunch of people sitting, drinking and hanging out in the dark. Nearby, there are several popular night clubs.
