Grisogono Palace Luxury Apartments
Ranked #47 of 512 Specialty Lodging in Split

If in Split look no further than Grisogono Palace. The location overlooks the town square that is the hub of Split . The history of the palace was fascinating the Bell Tower a real focul point Close to all restaurants transport and waterfront. If you like a quiet stay this is not for you but if you want atmosphere then look no further. Band at restaurant plays nightly and many different buskers. Our window overlooked the square and it was magnificent ! The only down was breakfast is served at the restaurant next and you don't have a choice, it's a set menu!

Room Tip: If you don't mind a bit if noise then ask for room overlooking the square!

The palace is situated in a very old and historic building located on the Peristil. The location is unbeatable. It is an excellent value for the price. Our suite had a medieval painted ceiling. The furnishings were modern and comfortable. Breakfast was given at the elegant restaurant next door. It was a really great experience.

Split is very interesting and was the unexpected highlight of our trip to the Balkans. If you visit Croatia - do not miss it.

Room Tip: You can only be given a good room

First the location; this is built into what was formerly the dioclesion's palace, with part of an ancient arch forming the wall of a house which was later built against the palace. The original palace is visible from the window as a plaza of foot-polished marble down in the street below. At night it filled with musicians and fire jugglers which we watched from our window with a glass of wine.
Secondly the apartment's facilities; very well finished and done with good attention to detail. The building includes an ancient handmade wooden tiled ceiling which had been noted as a point of historical interest by Unesco. The whole apartment is sitting in the middle of a Unesco world heritage site and it and the surrounding are beautiful. The modernisations have been done is a clean and understated way, only problem is that the hot water tank is a bit small, due to the limited space. I do like long hot showers so I ended up waking up quicker than expected!
Thirdly the service and interaction with the owners; very helpful, very professional and very efficient. They were happy to explain the history of the building and area and provided directions so it was easy for us to reach the apartment.
All in all a very pleasant experience and one I would highly recommend.

This apartment was exceptional in uniqueness, beauty and location. Its living area were lovingly restored with historic ceiling finishes and Murano windows. Location was excellent being on the heart of Diocletians Palace which I would highly recommend as the place to stay in Split. i can imagine music from the square drifting up during peak season but at the time of our stay in October this wasn't an issue (in any case the bedroom was located at the back). Price was a bargain and included breakfast in nearby cafe. Had minor issue with hot water and no aircon in the bedroom (again may be an issue in summer) but out of our entire Europe trips staying in 10+ hotels, apartments and B&Bs, I like this the best.

This place is in the palace in the middle of the old town and is in the middle of all the fun activities. The apartment was recently renovated in April as you can tell by the pictures and the original ceiling is still there. The owners are lovely and accommodating to make sure that your stay is nice. There was a little bit of a language barrier but nothing that two different cultures can't figure out. We got in late, coordinated by telephone with lady who met us and than brought us to the apartment.

I do recommend that you stay in this place as it is lovely and so well located.
