“fascinating historic site”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

This is a fascinating site that is still being excavated in parts and has a tunnel with shops that takes you under the actual palace. It is a very popular place and the locals as well as tourists seem to enjoy it.

“Very interesting”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

We really enjoyed walking the streets, especially at night to see the buildings lit under on soft yellow light. It made for awesome photos!

“Visible History”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

It was interesting to walk around the Palace and almost see and feel the history in the buildings. Unfortunately a part of the Palace was being restored and so closed to visitors.

“A must in Split”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Built in 305 AD, but alive with souvenir shops, basement museum, nearby church with a dome worthy of its walk for the fantastic view, and be sure to attend the music performances in the courtyard held every evening.

“Palace of Old”

Very unique. Good food and shops but better history. Go up the bell tower - the view is magnificent!
