“Delightful staff, light rooms and outstanding breakfast”
Reviewed April 25, 2013 via mobile

All in all we really enjoyed our 2 night stay!

We were checked in by Ivico who was extremely polite and welcoming. We were given room 435, so on the fourth floor overlooking the entrance, with a view on city, mountains and a some sea.

The room was delightful: very light, spacious, large balcony, walk in shower (no bath but wasn't missed) and very comfortable bed. Probably the nicest Radisson room I've stayed in to date.

Our stay included breakfast which was a highlight. I think it's the best breakfast I've ever had in a hotel and trumped some delicious Hilton breakfasts I've enjoyed! Definitely the best Club Carlson breakfast I've had. There was a vast choice and everything tasted so fresh. We could choose our table, inside or out. First day we went outside initially but it was very bright and we hadn't taken our sunglasses so quickly retreated inside.

The staff throughout the stay were very helpful and polite. We were very impressed by how kind and welcoming they were.

The spa was great. The outside pool was closed when we were there (mid April) but was apparently opening in a few days. The indoor pool was quite cool so very refreshing! Be warned that it seems many guests enjoy saunas without clothes. There are 3 saunas, 2 mini plunge type pools, 1 relaxation room, 1 indoor pool and 1 outdoor pool.

The main downside of room was the lack of air conditioning to cool the room down. We were told that AC was not working to cool room down, only heat it up. As such, the room was around 23-24 degrees celsius and the only way to cool it down was by opening the balcony window, which did quickly cool the room down, but at night it was too loud outside from the road to keep it open all the time. Room 435 was just above where the taxi drivers wait for the hotel guests so sometimes you could hear them chatting away which could bother some people I suppose - they didn't make any noise in the late evening though.

The 1st night we slept well, opening the window at one point during the night because it was too warm for us. The second night we slept less well. Because the AC wasn't on in our room, I could hear a noise in another room which sounded like a heater or something similar going on then off, on then off, every minute or so. I'm a light sleeper, so ended up using my earplugs in the whole time the second night. My wife slept OK though, so I put it down to me being a light sleeper. I do think however if the AC had been on and cooling, we would have had it on all night and so we would have slept better.

The bathroom was lovely and the shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and moisturising cream delightful.

Tips:
- Breakfast is fabulous, and served from 6:30-11am. Make the most of it and leave plenty of time!
- On the basement floor (-1) there is a door at the back of the hotel which leads to a path which is just 3 mins to the beach. From there you can walk along the coast which is a lovely walk.
- Parking is offered on site for €9. You can park offsite for free if you like but no protection although seemed safe enough.
- There is a fantastic restaurant a 10 minute walk away definitely worth checking out called 'konoba nevera'. Outstanding food and TridAdvisor top 5 in Split so worth trying. We did and loved it!

Small points hotel could improve on in my opinion:
- Our room was warm (24 degrees celsius) after trying to switch the air conditioning on and then phoning reception as couldn't get it working, we were informed that it was only working to heat the room and so should open the window. I thought this was a bit surprising given 4 star status and expect we were at the start of things getting warmer so AC will be on soon.
- 1st minor point - The teas and coffee allocation in room was very stingy - 1 coffee, 1 earl grey tea bag, 1 mint tea bag. This was a bit mean I thought and much fewer than in other Club Carlson hotels. Of course we could have phoned for reception for more.
- 2nd minor point - There was no iron in the room. Again surprising given 4 star status and only Club Carlson I've stayed in that didn't have one in room. Of course we could phone for reception for one.

Radisson Blu Split is a little far away from town. In the first morning we walked on the shore, it took about one hour without walking any part on car-streets.The shore way is a little difficalt to find at the Split-end but you can allways ask, local people are very kind and helpful.
At hotel reception you can get time schedule for the bus no.17.It runs every 20-25 minutes, it takes ab.15 min to the town and 5-6 min back to the hotel ( different routing).
Taxi is allways available in front the hotel, it cost 5-7€ ( bus 1,5€)
The personnel in the hotel is great, kind and helpful. The Front office Manager Mrs Helga
Manenica has created the best front office personnel we have ever seen at any Radisson Blu
Hotel
Food in ala carte restaurant in also very good ,We have tried lamb cutlets and seebass, both very good
In spring time you can not get any adwantage of the shore becouse of cold water. The view is very fine also at colder weather. To the shore is about 80 steps from the hotel!
We think therooms are too modern and too complicated designed.

We were in this hotel at the end of March, 2013.If you are coming by your own car it is very easy to find it. As I said in title building is designed so that everything is pure and open, rooms are with big glass wall open to the sea and although "not on the beach" standing on the balcony it gives you impression that there is nothing between. Main reason of our trip was short spa retreat and it was complete
Main reason of our trip was short spa retreat and it was completely successful-spa area is very nice and clean, but I could recommend it as a short escape also since Split is very interesting city and hotel is well postioned.Breakfast is really on the 5 star level hotel with a cook ready to prepare you eggs as you wish and staff always ready to serve and help you.
I have to say that reviews here I have read (except very few ones) were not truthful in describing this hotel especially I have to say that a cherry on the top would be excellent and the kindest staff –from reservation office, reception, restorant, bar to spa.

We just got back from our 3 days stay at the Radisson in Split and had a great time. We wanted to relax and so we did. Spa is nice, pool, jacuzzi and saunas, and lot of big windows with a lot of sun......
The breakfast was really good, great choice of juices, fruits and sweets, which i prefer in the morning :)
we had the least expensive room, but still it was really nice, and so was the bathroom with the walk in shower.
We will definitely return to this hotel....

This hotel feels llike it is new --it is so clean and well maintained. The breakfast buffet is wonderul including eggs cooked to order and all kinds of fruits, pastries, meats, cereals and more --and more.

The rooms are high teck, room temperature controlled or limited by the front desk computer...the baths are wonderful.

But the location is not convienent if you want to see the old city...

We arrived early and only had to wait a short while for our room to be ready, very impressed. The sun was shining so the veranda bar had terrific coffee and a pastry to fill the time. The staff are excellent and so is the food. The spa and pool area are great for an unwind. The biggest draw back for tourists new to Split is that if you want to see the old town it is a 12 kilometre return walk. The scenery is superb along the waterway and you can stop for a many drinks along the way from the yacht club( loosly termed ) to alfresco coffee bars. Shops were open but most tourist things were not. We visited in April and they don't open till end of May or June.

Room Tip: Even if you book room with a sea view, you may have to go out on your balcony and look around the c...

Nice modern and clean property with good facilities, good service and the food was also good, but the location is well away from the old town making sightseeing a little difficult. I would choose another hotel closer to the old town if I return
