I have tried mainly all restaurants in Split but Duje has me for years now when I have to choose where to eat. The food is fresh and tasty, from spaghetti to fish and meat. Prices are rasonable (similar or even cheaper then in other restaurants), portions are huge (and come with the side dishes, do not know if one of the reviews below had the same restaurant Duje in mind) and service is very friendly. You can get a good bottle of wine as of 20 EUR per bottle. Soups are about 3 EUR, meat courses are from 8 EUR (poultry) to 17 EUR (the most expansive beefsteak) and spaghetti are from 6 or 7 EUR. My fav spaghetti is ''Nada'' with fresh shrimp tails, zuchinni and prosciutto (without cream) and they are about 8 EUR. Try the shrimp pate with ''peci pizza'' to start your meal, on the main course everything is reccomended as I have been through the whole menu (they are also willing to combine dishes if you wish) and finish with the best chocollate souffle in town! The area around the restaurant is not that nice, there is no view from the restaurant but there are two large parking lots right next to it (one free of charge and one needs to be paid), the atmosphere and the decoration of the restaurant is great and cozy and it is definetly worth to do the trip from the old town to this great place.
