great place to stay and to enjoy Split.
First of all the staff is amazing friendly and always willing to help you or to pleased you
Second the place: right in the center walking distance to all main attraction of the city
there is a nice thing, if you wake up early just go down and then you can enjoy the green market and eat fresh nice fruits
the room by itself: good compromise between old style and modern style very simple but so cute.
the bathroom is very nice and large
the hotel is clean and a lot of place in the wardrobe.
the breakfast is made down in a place called Tiffany.
nice choice and fresh omelett very nice.

Slightly more than a budget choice but a great place. Very good location, clean comfortable and a great attention.
Free wi-fi and breakfast.
Manager gave us all the facilities to check-in and check-out. She was also a good advisor for places to go, eat, etc.

We arrived in split with no bookings, stumbled upon this hotel and had the good luck to have a staff member present and a room free. The room is small but somehow (because the room is so pleasant due to decorating and clenliness) this didnt bother me. The bathroom has a big shower, the sheets were lovely, there was shampoo and slipers in thte bathroom (it would be good instead of having 3 bottles of shampoo to have 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner and 1 lotion instead however) we only had a small window but it was looking over the old town so it was nice. I would recomend this hotel and i would stay again.
Also the lady owner whom we met in the morning was soooo nice and she was really pretty and she made you feel special.
Also breakfast was included just around the corner at a different hotel it was sooo good, it wasnt a buffet rather you order your breakfast from the waiter but there was lots to chose from.

Room Tip: we stayed in room 1 whichgreat but a little small - if you are staying quite a few nights you would...

The hotel room was outstanding in architecture and decor. The staff were helpful and gracious, luggage was carried in the room since there was no lift in the hotel. Breakfast served in the neighbouring hotel was good enough and there was a wide selection. The hotel was excellent value for money.

Room Tip: take number 5 with sea wiew

This hotel has some very good things and some things that need improvement.

What is good?
- Being greeted at 4 in the morning (which is when our bus arrived) and having my bag carried up all the stairs (72 stairs, if you're interested, no lift). That is some of the best service going around!
- The room is small, but very stylish and modern. There is plenty of storage space.
- The bathroom is fabulously clean and modern. The shower is the best I have had anywhere in Europe!
- Both Sanja and Tina were incredibly helpful, recommending restaurants, beaches etc. You cannot fault their friendliness or welcoming manner.
- The location is amazing, so close to bus station, markets, old town, ferry ports - everything you want!

However, as I said, there were a few things that made this average, instead of excellent.

What is average?
- Although the bathroom was clean and modern, there was a tremendously bad smell there the whole time. I really don't know what causes this, but it was quite putrid. You had to keep the bathroom door shut at all times. It was the sort of smell that isn't only bad, but smelled chemically, like it was unhealthy to breathe in. What a shame, since, as I said the bathroom was so nice.
- The reception desk was right outside our room, and the ladies who staffed it would talk loudly from early in the morning, making good sleep very difficult. This is a really strange arrangement, I really think they should consider moving this desk, getting better sound-proofing or not talking in the mornings. It was also awkward knowing that someone was sitting right outside your room, literally. We felt as though we had no privacy, we didn't feel comfortable to talk freely etc.
- Finally, as the heading says, you must pay for your accommodation in cash. It does say this (in small print) on the booking form, but I have never been to a hotel or bed and breakfast anywhere in the world that makes you pay in cash, so I never thought to look for this on the booking confirmation! Surely in 2012 they can get card payment facilities... I guess for them there is a tax break, but for us there is now interest accruing on our credit card!

Well, there you have it: the ups and the downs. Now it is up to you to make up your mind!

I'm writing this as I'm in room number 5 and it's almost midnight and you cannot hear a sound! Very peaceful.
Very high spec modern room with the most comfortable mattress.
Great location with balcony over looking harbour and palace.
Very friendly staff who met us and carried luggage up the stairs.
Staff extremely helpful with suggestions of where to eat and excursions.
Brilliant shower and tea making facility and mini bar in room plus air con and flat screen TV.
I cannot fault in any way and highly recommend and only wish I was staying longer! You will not be disappointed.
