“Could not be better”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013

This marvelous hotel has it all. Modern comfortable rooms, a private terrace for contemplation and a glass of wine, excellent breakfast, great location in the old city and best of all- an amazingly friendly and helpful staff who seem to delight in pleasing you.

Too many in the hospitality industry are less than hospitable, but here you could not want for more- Such kindness and genuine interest in your every need. You can also trust their recommendations for restaurants and sights. The rooms are large and spotless, the bathroom generous and the bed extremely comfortable.

Because the hotel is located in the old city where cars are not allowed, you will park outside and you and your luggage will be taken to the hotel by electric cart. After a quick ride you will be there right in the middle of everything. While the square can get quite boisterous, with the double windows closed you won't hear any noise. Wonderful. There is simply no better place to stay in Split in terms of the total package.

Room Tip: I don't believe that there is a bad room here. Be sure to ask their thoughts about restaurants a...

We arrived late afternoon and were guided to parking away from the hotel, which was a good thing, as the hotel is in the middle of the old palace grounds, with tourists everywhere. The location could not be better. We were able to walk the old streets and see the market, with all the vendors selling fruits and vegetables. The cherries and strawberries were in season.

Breakfast was great. I had an omelette, as well as a strong cappuccino. Everyone was polite and helpful, guiding us to a nice restaurant, too.

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from the breakfast area so you won't be awakened in the morning.

Palace Judita is a fabulous hotel in the center (on the square) of the old city in Split. The people who manage the hotel are fabulous - knowledgeable, helpful and responsive (immediate responses to email questions). The rooms are beautiful and the bathrooms are very nice. The breakfast was very good - eggs made to order, a good espresso machine, really all very nice. Just a great experience.

We are finishing our stay at the Palaca Judita and don't want to leave. This is the most incredible place to stay. The service in 5 star, and If they would let you, I would rate it a 10 star. The staff came to our car to take us to our hotel. Other staff members met us downstairs and welcomed us to the Palaca. They made fantastic recommendations for restaurants, tours of other islands and local guides. The hotel itself is beautiful. To give you a prospective of where we normally stay, 2 weeks ago we stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel, in Buckhead, Atlanta. If I had to choose between the two, there would be no hesitation, it would be the Palaca. To me it's all about the staff... The service, friendliness and personalization is way above anything we've experienced... And we've been very fortunate to stay in great places!! Go there now!!!!!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 6.

We stayed very recently at Palace Judita for 3 nights, one of the best places we've stayed in many years of travel. Marija and Andre were great hosts. Andre came to help us park in the hotel's parking area and walked us back into the pedestrian area where the hotel was located. The location was perfect- on a lovely square in the central part of the Old Town/Diocletian Palace. The room was compact, but beautiful, with A/C, a comfortable bed, extra seating, cable TV, and free Wi-Fi. Although the rooms are one floor up (stairs through a small courtyard), it was perfectly doable even for those with mobility issues. The front desk and breakfast room are also on that floor. Breakfast was served in a pretty room, there were numerous food choices and eggs cooked to order. There's an indoor/outdoor café (drinks, dessert) on the ground floor. Our hosts were knowledgeable about Split and provided many suggestions. They also promptly met all our requests. When some friends stopped by, Andre offered them refreshments. We enjoy learning about countries we visit, and we spoke with Andre at length about Croatia (in English). We highly recommend a stay at this special boutique hotel.

Room Tip: Although the hotel is on a busy square, our room was completely quiet.

We regret that we only spent one night in Palace Judita and it deserves more than 5 stars.. By far the best hotel we have ever stayed in anywhere in the world. Service, amenities, cleanliness, location, food, comfort and just lovely. We arrived very, very early and were greeted and told our room was not available (we did not expect it to be available we just wanted to drop our bags off), They not only took our bags but were offered breakfast and told if we want to use the shower it was available. At night we were offered a choice of nightcaps, I chose the homemade almond liquor. Small boutique hotel that mixes the old with the new Do yourself a favor and spend more than one night.

Room Tip: We had a lovely room overlooking the courtyard.
