Review of Fig Split

Fig Split
Ranked #8 of 522 Restaurants in Split
Price range: $9 - $21
Description: Nestled within the heart of the 4th Century Diocletian Palace is our newest location - Fig Split. Our focus was in creating a new and vibrant dining experience, but still in-keeping with our travel inspired food mantra - something a little different. And in true Fig style, we’re hidden just to the north of the central square. Our passion for delicious, fresh, local ingredients remains unchanged and the menu in Split still includes some old favorites. However, the larger kitchen space and longer tourist season allows for some extra creativity, so we’ve added a few seasonally inspired dishes too. Coupled with a terrific new bar menu of delicious cocktails inspired by Dalmatian produce, our goal is to exceed all your expectations with our friendly atmosphere, beautiful surroundings and incredible food and drinks.

Visited Fig Split during our stay as we had heard good things about it. We arrived about 6pm on Sunday evening which was a bit early to which we entered an empty restaurant. We decided to stay since we had planned on coming here anyway. We were greeted by very friendly staff and decided to sit inside as it was a lot cooler and looked more inviting inside than out. Food choice was very limited but varied. Nothing really stood out to me but we went for the Pear and Blue cheese flat bread for starters and the Korma for main. They were both delicious however everything was covered in green leaves which I thought was unnecessary. Overall it's a nice little restaurant, good location, different food.

Great food in Split and Hvar . We really enjoyed both restaurants. Good staff , food is good quality and tasty. The setting in Hvar is outdoors and tranquil. In Split it is in the Diocletian palace easy to find .

I ate dinner here with 11 friends after sailing for a week, the food was fantastic, the veggie korma I loved! The carrot cake was maybe the best I’ve ever had I ate one and a half pieces cleaning up everyone else’s plate! Another friend and I came back for breakfast the next day, the veggie burrito was amaaaazing! I’ll be back!

The first thing that attracted us was the location. However, we didn’t know what to expect after reading the menu. It seemed a little too simple / fast food-ish. We orderd a burger and a tortilla. Portions were small and prices were very high. Staff seemed overwhelmed and a little too pushy... the girl kept asking if everything was ok. Sometimes you just want to eat at peace. I will not go back to this place.

The food came within 5 minutes. Great! The dishes both looked and tasted amazing. The place was very busy. You could tell on the waiters. The waiter was adorable but it wasn’t very personal and kind of rushed. It was a nice outside-seating area that was kind of enclosed from other traffic in the old town. Unfortunately they shared this little area with adventure-booking companies that had huge ugly posters, bicycles and ads that and they were talking to the customers about trips etc. That was ruining the little romantic and unique vibe that the place potentially could’ve had. Also, there was no music from the restaurant, but somebody was playing really annoying music from one of the apartments on the floors above the restaurant. The vibe looked way better on the inside, but we didn’t go look there. All in all we would go there again for the food but the looks and feels of the place (outside seating) could really improve.
