Like all my other reviews i will mention both good and bad points and straight to the point.

The location is excellent right in the heart of old split however if you are a light sleeper or have to get up early dont expect much sleep as there is normally live music every night in the palace square until about 1am. ivan is a friendly host however he did forget to mention that you need to keep the hot water tank switch on if you want hot shower, the switch is right next to light switch so easily turned off. The rooms were clean although we had stained underside of sheet (see pictures). The room we stayed in had no view due to the shutters that could not be moved up. We found hairs and unclean shower on arrival (see pics). There is no lift in the apartment and small narrow stair case so not the best with big luggage bags. On arrival we got told there was no wifi however Ivan gave us an internet stick for our laptop which was slow and eventually stopped working after 30mins.

Overall i would say to people to use the money and stay somewhere else, Wi-fi should be standard especially if you run your own business. For 70 euro's a night i don't think these apartments are worth the money.

If you're looking for a beautiful room in the old city center, you can go there: rooms are clean, and Ivan (the host) is very kind. The only inconvenience is the noise of the area due to the activities of the city center.

The Diocletian Rooms are in the most fantastic location within the palace walls. As long as you don't mind hearing the local street musicians playing outside your window (until a reasonable hour) then you really couldn't get a better location with lovely views from the window on the higher floors.

The management were very easy to get in touch with and extremely helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: The rooms on the 3rd & 4th floors have better views, but it is a steep winding staircase, so if you aren't strong enough to carry your suitcase far then opt for the rooms on the 1st or 2nd floor.

Accomodation was very nice although a little bit too much Ikea-like and kitsh (black and white paintings, and so on). The location is great, but don't be affraid to feel as in Disneyworld if you come in high-season: the Diocletian Palace looks more like a tourist center than an old palace where you feel Roman atmosphere (a problem in Split in general, in our opinion, that we did not find in Sibenik for instance, which was more calm and peaceful). Also note that in summer musicians are playing in front of the main cafe located just near to the Diocletian palace, and that it can became noisy if you want to have rest earlier than midnight.
Our host was very friendly and ready to help, but not based on site. The door of the hotel is quite flashy with advertisement regarding the rooms on it: again, dont' be affraid by the commercial aspect that is given to the place. The view from our room was very nice. Last but not least there was dust beneath the bed and the sink was clogged. The room could have been cleaner with regards to the price it costs...

Room Tip: In high season, maybe have a look to accomodation near to the Diocletian Palace to have more calm, but not inside.

We arrived the beautifully located room/studio overlooking the palace and were totally amazed. We also were met with a friendly host who handed over the keys and did the necessary explanations.

After settling in however, we started to see deeper into things and our impression changed. Don't get me wrong, the place is still fantastically located. What changed our opinion was that the cleanliness of the place especially the bathroom. The toilet itself had clear marks of usage (to put it nicely) which you could see when lifting the lid and/or seat, which I simply removed with a wet toiletpaper (meaning it was the lack of cleaning and not permanent stains). The trash had not been emptied from previous guests. The tap on both shower and basin had dirty marks on them. The same applies to the spot between the taps and where they are mounted (filled with dirt). Finally the 2 shelfes inside the shower for putting your shampoo and showergel was super dirty and simply disgustibg for me to even touch. After seeing this kind of lack of cleanliness I started to think about these places one hears about that uses the same toiletbrush to clean everything. I am not saying the did that here but I just did not get a nice feeling and have to admit I was happy we were only staying that one night. Bedding seemed clean but then again who knows.

The internett was also not working (wifi) although the add claimed they had internett. This alone would not be a point to comment for me, but when combined with lack of hygene I think it is worth mentioning.

We have informed the nice guy who checked us in about the cleanliness, which he seemed not to know anything about. Now it will be up to the next guest to see if they have manged to do something with this and if so, whether they will keep it up. I certainly hope so, because the place itself was beautiful and a shame not to be in better condition.

We will not stay here nex time unless we are certain they have done some serious improvement.
