Marmont Hotel Heritage

We thoroughly enjoyed the Marmont. The hotels’s location cannot be beat!. Just a few hundred meters from both the sea and Diocletian's Palace, this boutique hotel is modern, quiet, and extremely clean. The rooms, while not huge, are more than adequate. The shower is awesome! Unlike some of the previous reviewers, we found the staff to be friendly and very helpful. What we found amazing was the peace and quiet provided by the hotel. Tucked away on a side street, the Marmont offers a respite from the hordes of tourists. As one reviewer noted “You can be out the door and exploring the city. Yet when you return you can rest, regroup and plan your next foray into the city.” Breakfast, included with the room, was very good.
We had to park behind the bus station which was a fairly long haul from the hotel. We were therefore very pleased, and relieved, to learn that transport in the form of a stretch golf cart was available. The cart’s young driver was terrific.
If we return to Split we know we will return to the Marmont.

Right in the heart of Split and easy walking distance to anything you want to do. Rooms a little on the small side but they are nicely decorated, clean and have free Wi-Fi. The included breakfast was very good. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful with all our needs, they referred us to a wine bar for dinner which, Kuna for Kuna, was one of the better meals we had on our trip. There is nothing about this hotel that makes you say "wow" but, on the other hand, it is tough to find any faults with it. Stay here without hesitation if you're looking to explore Split.

A charming little hotel right in the centre of town, just a couple of minutes from the old town and harbour front - so A+ for location. The hotel is really well decorated and the staff helpful. At this price point I was surprised that the rooms were rather smaller than the other hotels we stayed at in Croatia, but perhaps that is something peculiar to Split. The only complaint that I'd have would be over the breakfast which was really limited especially compared to the other hotels we stayed at which cost us about the same amount. Almost 5/5 but not quite at this price.

Lovely hotel. So glad we stayed here. Right within the palace walls. Steps from the Riva ( waterfront). Staff were very polite and efficient. It is a very elegant hotel. 5 star service all the time. The breakfast is well laid out and impeccably served. Would stay here every time I go back to the lovely town of Split. The rooms are a bit small but very well organized and very modern, clean and luxurious. We had terrible views - staring right into another window a few feet away.

Set in the heart of the old city. This boutique hotel is definitely five stat. Very high room standard, wifi in rooms. What makes it really special is the charming and helpful staff. Always smiling and trying to ensure a great stay. Highly recommended.

I stayed at the Marmont hotel in late April 2014 on a trip through Croatia. The hotel is probably in the best location of any hotel in town in that it is close to the Diocletian's Palace, Riva and walking distance to the bus/train stations and ferries to the islands and Italy. I took a bus north from Dubrovnik and then easily walked from there to the hotel in about 15 minutes. The hotel is actually very difficult to find down a side alley so it would probably be best to print out some sort of map and use Google Street View to see what stores and restaurants are nearby.

The hotel is small (28 rooms on 4 floors), clean, new and in a very convenient location. There was a small, very limited, buffet breakfast included with the room that was satisfactory but not spectacular. The hotel also had an Internet PC available for guests' use on the mezzanine or wi-fi if you brought your own computer.

The room had, in my opinion, a very comfortable bed with high quality linen, a mini-bar and closet safe. The room was also very quiet (central heat and A/C) with no between room or outside noise and dark with great blackout curtains and shutters over the windows. The flatscreen TV, unfortunately, only had CNN International in English. The bathroom included a robe, slippers, hair dryer, magnifying mirror, full-length mirror and very deep bathtub and shower with shampoo, conditioner and body lotion.

I enjoyed my stay at the Marmont hotel. While difficult to find initially it was a good choice because the location was very convenient to all the tourist sites of Split. I thought all employees were nice, knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. I would stay at this hotel were I to return to Split and I would recommend it to others.
