Description: Our small family restaurant is run by Father & Chef, preparing dishes that are passed on by his mother and grandmother. Our family lives in this neigborhood for more than 300 years. Blessed by the heavenly Adriatic, seafood is mainly our thing. As we depend on the weather working with fish, daily menu is flexible. Vegetables are bought on the bazaar behind the palace & the fish-market is 100m away. Even our wine & olive oil is made by local family producers. Enjoy traditional Dalmatian dishes in friendly atmosphere.. Welcome foodies!

We ate at Konoba Marjian the night before. Matejuska is a small restaurant, too, but the room is little more aesthetically attractive. We ordered the fish platter for two (as we did as Marjian). This one comes with a salad (lettuce and tomato). I have never raved about lettuce and tomato but I will here. They were so fresh and just tasted wonderful. Our platter, chosen individually by the chef except except we asked not to include Haik, included tuna, amber jack, seabream and shark. It was terrific. The quantity was a bit less than Marjian, though. The price was equally high, 290 kuna, which is about 60 USD. Service was superb and we highly recommend the fish. You would be wise to make reservations as we saw quite a few people being turned away. It is a small place.

This is a very small typical croatian restaurant with 5 tables for 16 people. It is strongly recommended to make a reservation. When we went there around 3:00 PM they were fully booked for the rest of the day.

The fish is very good. We had the fish for two that served well our goup of three.

Excellent service, lovely food, wonderful atmosphere. Very small so worth booking. We had the fish platter for two and while we were shown a huge plate, we were told the chef ultimately decided what went on - would have liked the fresh tuna and were offered it after the chefs choice came out but decided against it as this would have pushed the price up, but what we had was still good. Had the shark, sea bass and another white fish -all delicious

Went here two days in a row during a weekend in October. Got to test fresh Dentex, Tuna, Seabream Gilthead etc. and was very convinced about the fresh taste, service and overall price/value. I must say; best fish I have ever tasted, and especially the tuna was convincing since that is my favorite fish and I have never had a better tuna. Can also recommend the lens soup with local dalmatian ham and the shrimps in oil and garlic. They also let me taste local spirits (can recommend their bitter orange liquor). No this place is by its own worth to visit Split for, and its very cheap and value/money.

Make sure to make a reservation 1 day in advance since they only have 4-5 tables inside. They are open all-year around according to our local guide but I havent had this confirmed!

Was recommended this restaurant by our hotel owner and was not disappointed, we could not get in on the first visit but booked for the following night and was lucky to get a late table outside. We went for the seafood platter and was blown away by the service and food served, the whole wonderful 'showing of fish platter' to the expert explanation started things off well and when food was served it was excellent, even managed to persuade waiter to add in a couple of small tuna steaks as well, felt like nothing was too much trouble, whole evening from ambiance to service, to value was top notch. Not a 5 star restaurant just homely/friendly/welcoming Konoba serving 5 star food, certainly the culinary highpoint of 10 days in Croatia.
