Description: Our small family restaurant is run by Father & Chef, preparing dishes that are passed on by his mother and grandmother. Our family lives in this neigborhood for more than 300 years. Blessed by the heavenly Adriatic, seafood is mainly our thing. As we depend on the weather working with fish, daily menu is flexible. Vegetables are bought on the bazaar behind the palace & the fish-market is 100m away. Even our wine & olive oil is made by local family producers. Enjoy traditional Dalmatian dishes in friendly atmosphere.. Welcome foodies!

This restaurant is high on TA and has only 3 outdoor tables. So, in peak season make sure you book several days in advance. We saw lots of people being turned away. The food was good but not exceptional. Croatian cooking of fish/seafood tends to be simple - fried or grilled - and relies on freshness and quantity. I had 'stone' clams for starters and grilled tuna steak for main. My husband is allergic to fish/seafood and they were able to prepare a simple meat dish for him. Service was was polite and courteous.

We ate here for dinner our first night in Split and were blown away. The mussels were the best I've ever had. We also had the house-smoked ham, 2 of the fish caught that day, grilled vegetables and salad. Our waiter (owner's son) was helpful, spoke English and couldn't have been nicer. Our children loved it too.

This was a REALLY remarkable experience. Like so many other people here, we booked this place because of its excellent reviews. The food is superb, we had mussels as a starter (recommended by the waiter) and the fish speciality for two. Both were great! Coming from a country where fish is top quality (Portugal), this restaurant really amazed us. Apart from the food, the staff is great! All in all, a superb experience in Split.

This restaurant really did live up to all the rave reviews. It is a quaint little place, very characterful inside & in a little lane with a few tables outside. You really must book, but it is so worth it. Whilst we were dining many, many hopeful diners were turned politely away. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, even taking a photo of us with the fish! I had the most delicious seared tuna I've ever had with grilled mixed vegetables. Highly recommened.
