Typical seems like such a lame word to use, but in terms of Ukraine, this is very typical. Nearly every Ukrainian village/town/city has a WW2 memorial, many of them really big. I like the somber feeling, the way people actually take time to think about and honour what happened. There are several side memorials as you walk down the main pink path.
