After many years of mediocre restaurants, there is now at last a top class restaurant in Odessa where the management make every effort to provide excellent food, a lovely ambiance and super service. Having visited twice in the last 2 weeks and getting the finest meals both times, I will most certainly be a regular.
The setting is in a courtyard where you can chose to sit inside in very comfortable surroundings, chairs or couch, or upstairs in the well designed terrace. Tables are decorated with nice lamps and flowers, there's even a very interesting cold room where they keep wine, salamis and cheeses. I was given the tour. It's one street up from the very center of Odessa.
The menu covers all the usual Italian recipes but cooked to perfection and presented so stylishly. I remarked that I didn't like spinach so my Filet arrived on a bed of asparagus instead......I had ordered cream of asparagus soup so clever and thoughtful thinking my the staff. Nice touch. Prices range from $5-$10 for straters/soups to $15-$25 for main courses. Incredibly good value for the quality. My filet melted as I cut it. Medium rare- perfect.
The staff were exceptionally friendly yet professional which was a nice balance. No upselling of the wine selected. A reasonably priced Chianti was suggested. Very relaxing.
