I'm visiting 'Sophie Cafe' the 3rd year - and I've to say, despite Odessa has better restaurants than Kiev or any other city in Ukraine, Sophie Cafe still deserves the No. 1 rating in TA.
It's a 5 minute walk from city center, located in a quite street. During summer they have a very nice terrace where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner. No, it's not a place to see and to be seen, it's more a romantic spot to visit as a couple or with some friends.
Everything is of highest standard, the linen, tableware and especially the service. In Ukraine it's rare to find a waiter with a smile, somebody who knows about the dishes, can recommend.
The food itself is very good, some dishes like the 'Oliver a la Chef' innovative. We also like the pate of fois gras. The Osso Buco is as it should be, soft and tender. But also the Italian dishes like the Risotto are surprisingly tasty. They make their own lemonade, which isn't too sweet.
Prices are very good for the quality served. With 2 people (without alcohol) you hardly cross the 500 Grivna (US$ 40).
I can't recommend this restaurant high enough.
