My son and I spent four perfect nights at Meson de Maria. The location is ideal. Our favorite restaurant, Calle Real, was right across the street. They even delivered beverages to our room. The staff could not have been more attentive and friendly. Our room was small and cozy. I highly recommend this lovely hotel.

I stayed here with a group first week of April. After staying overnight in G City this was such a charming and welcoming place to stay for 3 nights. Wonderful staff, fantastic rooms (lots of antiques and Guatemalan textiles, but quaint and freshly updated). And right near the Centre of Antigua. Wonderful breakfast in the courtyard of the hotel. Highly recommend this hotel, not expensive by our standards.

Room Tip: End room on the top floor was lovely, near the old church bell (not chiming…)

First of all the location could not be better close to the main square and a restaurant right across the street, handy if you arrive in the dark and would prefer your first exploration to be in daylight. The rooms are so cool quirky, clean and comfortable. The staff were lovely and friendly welcoming us back when we returned for one night later on in our trip. Grab some beers from the restaurant across the street and watch the sunset and distant storms on the roof terrace. Antigua is a fantastic city, if you have time leave the guidebook in your bag and just wander, its great. Then do what you need to do the next day. 24 hours here is not enough.

Room Tip: Room 10 was our favourite of the two we stayed in. The company we travelled with stipulated that we...

We stayed here at the beginning and end of our trip to Guatemala. It was the perfect hotel for us. The location is convenient to the plaza, markets, ruins and all the shopping you could possibly want. We had different rooms and they were both lovely with great beds. The breakfast was delicious and the gentleman who served us was so friendly and made immediate friends with my adult son. They also have great flavored waters for filling your water bottles along with coffee, hot chocolate and pastries in the late afternoon. Great volcano viewing from the roof terrace. I look forward to returning again one day!

Hotel was great and rooms were very nicely done up.
We only stayed for 1 night but the staff were very accommodating.
We really enjoyed sitting on the roof terraces and the small terraces in the courtyards, a very relaxing way to pass some time.

I highly recommend this place for single women travelers, couples, small families..the staff is wonderful. They make you feel at home, I've returned 3 times and have never been disappointed. The food is delicious and the rooms are very clean. The hotel is perfectly situated two blocks from the central plaza, park, cathedral... I love this hotel, highly recommend it...beautiful views from the top floor. I look forward to going back soon...

We spent two nights here and did not arrive until gone midnight, nevertheless we were ably looked after by the very helpful night porter, who said we could check in properly in the morning and took us up to our upstairs room straight away.
The room was quite small, despite the "deluxe" classification (we had to put 1 suitcase on top of the wardrobe), but the bed was comfortable and the room spotlessly clean. There was no shower rose (water came out of an open trough type pipe) and the water was tepid, but adequate. My major complaint is that the walls are paper thin. We were talking when we arrived and must have disturbed the guests in the adjacent room, since we could later clearly hearing them talking and later snoring (they probably had the same complaint with us!).
The property is lovely. There are various terraces, including a roof terrace and it is perfectly situated for exploring the city. Breakfasts are good and all the staff very friendly (I was particularly impressed when we left and the Spanish speaking receptionist had gone to the trouble of getting someone to write to us, thanking us for staying and wishing us well for the remainder of our trip)
If we stayed again we would book a suite, since they do not share a wall with neighbours.
