This little hotel (11 rooms) in Antigua was the best place I stayed in Guatemala. The rooms were cool and quiet. And I've never seen such attention to cleanliness. The staff was pleasant and consistent over the course of the entire week. I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling in Antigua. Located well off the Parque Central, it requires a significant walk to the main drags of Antigua. However, in exchange, it offers quiet and comfortable accomodation. Plus, the entirety of Antigua can be traversed in a matter of minutes. Casa Florencia is my first choice in Guatemala.

I enjoyed Casa Florencia. It is a beautiful colonial type hotel only a couple of blocks from the arch. It was quiet, spotlessly clean, secure, and the bed was very comfortable. They even provided a sack breakfast for us at 4 am on our way to the airport.

A great place to stay...friendly staff, helpful suggestions. This place is always clean, rooms are comfortable, clean bathrooms, and the water is always hot. Rooms are well-appointed, everything works. A short walk to a wonderful coffee shop (Fernando's), La Merced Church, and the Arch. I have used the hotel for about 7 years for a short stay in Antigua with a study abroad program. Great balcony with view of the volcano.

This amazing hotel is the perfect place to stay in Antigua. It is beautifully decorated with a combination of wrought iron and hand carved furniture that give it a Spanish colonial feel. Ground floor rooms open onto a wall fountain flanked by gardens which extend the length of the first floor. The second floor rooms open onto a balcony with a beautiful view of the volcanoes. This is a perfect spot to watch the sunrise if you like being up at that time. The room furniture and the ceilings are made of hardwood which lends a great aroma to the spotlessly kept rooms. The service is exceptional.....the owner and her staff give great attention to detail and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and to make you feel like family. I have stayed there numerous times with my friends, my children, my siblings, and each time the service and care has been the same....over the top! There is a small kitchen and eating area where a delicious breakfast is served daily. I love this hotel and the family who runs it! Don't miss it!

We were 3 girls in a room and stayed there for a week, during the "Santa Semana". We received an excellent service from the staff - they helped us arranging hotels in other locations, recommended on restaurants, etc and were really polite and helpful. The breakfast (which is served only on holidays and weekends) was excellent and diverse.
The location was also great - it was near the city center and close to the processions that were during the holiday.
Again, we must emphasize the warm service we got from the manager of the hotel Patricia - who really look after us, helped us with the airline, which had lost our luggage and did much more than one could expect.

We stayed at Casa Florencia during Holy Week and had a very pleasant experience. Comfortable surroundings and friendly staff that took good care of us. Because it was Holy Week, they were also serving a hot breakfast each day for the guests, with juice, wonderful selection of fresh fruits and fresh bread. On the day we had to leave at 4:30am for a side trip to Tikal, they arranged a take-along breakfast for us. I noticed throughout our stay how often we'd see one of the staff sweeping floors and generally keeping the surroundings spotless. They obviously take pride in their hotel, and with good reason. Rooms had a lockbox for valuables. Beds were firm but not uncomfortable. The bathroom was reasonably sized and has a shower. Even with the business of Holy Week going on in the streets outside, the hotel was quiet with a good second floor view (see photos). Altogether, a great value.
