“Different perspective of Antigua”
Reviewed December 8, 2013 via mobile

Made a change from churches and ruins. Easy walk up, much shorter than expected. It was a mostly clear day, I expect views are not so impressive when it's cloudy. 2 tourist police were sat halfway en route and 1 was at the top - felt completely safe but as others have said best to go 9-5 when police are likely to be in attendance.

“Nothing special at the top - just a great view of the city”
Reviewed November 21, 2013

It is not a difficult climb up the stairway (even for a 68 year-old). There were five police officers along the way so security was never a concern. The view out over the city was great. If the stairs are a problem, you can always take the long way around by road, either on foot or tuktuk.

“Nice View!”
Reviewed November 10, 2013

Although the walk was lengthy, uneven stairs, etc., the view of Volcan Agua and the City of Antigua was worth it!

“Good exercise and great views”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

The pathway up is completely paved with cement. Lots and lots of stairs. a good way to pass a weekend morning and see Antigua and a volcano from high above. Not much else to see but still enjoyable. Be sure to do the climb during normal daylight hours (~8 to 5) when the tourist police are in attendance. We were warned to beware of dogs but though we encountered a small pack at the top they bothered no one. The visit took about 90 minutes and helped work up a good appetite.

“clean this place up”
Reviewed October 20, 2013

this could be such a nice spot but it's so run down. trash every where and erosion down the hill makes for a messy space. it's obviously seen better days and is now falling in to disrepair. the 2q they charge you to use the toilets should go towards a beautification fund. all this said, i bet if it hadn't been cloudy when we were there i would have overlooked all the negatives. we couldn't see the volcano on our trip. i heard from locals not to walk up because robbers hide in the woods along the trail but we drove so not sure how true this is.
