A lot of reviewers comments actually refer to the Paseo De Los Museo, one of the entrances to which is through the Hotel. No ifs no buts the Paseo is wonderful. But the hotel is another story.
We did try to book there, but they were so slow in responding that we'd already spent two night in Antigua and by the time we finally got their answer so only experienced the restaurant after visiting the Paseo.
A lucky escape we feel. Absolutely nothing to make you feel welcome. It is quite luxurious, but in a very sterile sort of way and worst of all they deliberately set out to mislead their customers as to their prices. Scour their web site if you like and see if you can find out whether the room rates include breakfast (which is of course optional) or tax (which is not). The info isn't there. Not making the tax element visible would be illegal in Europe (don't know about the US), here in Guatemala it's just sharp practice and businesses with such low ethical standards do not deserve our custom.
This is not a financial issue it's a moral one and the only way to educate businesses like this is with our feet.
