This was our last big meal in Guatemala before leaving after a month traveling. We went based on TA recommendations, and we were very lucky to have chosen it! We enjoyed a meal for four of ceviche (tons of shrimp and fish), wine, sea bass (x2), steak and pasta for right about US 100 (Q770). The 8 oz "Thai-style" sea bass (Q130 - seriously!) was unreal and something I have paid 3x as much for in the US. The chef came to check on us - as others have said, young but very talented! - and the service was at a western standard. I think anyone looking for an excellent meal in Antigua would be well served to visit Rafa's!

Everything was packed because the town was packed from the Lent procession. All of our other choices were unavailable. What Luck! This place was excellent. It was a lovely courtyard setting, the food we ordered was fabulous and the owner dropped by before we left to check to see if everything was fine. I would highly recommend going there. We'll go back on our next visit!!

Near the end of a 4 week stay & eating out daily we found Rafa's Bistrot last night. Everything was excellent! Salad with mixed greens, pear, prosciutto, almonds & green beans with dijon honey vinegrette. Paparadelle with sun dried tomatoes & olives. Sea bass with carrots, bok choy, white & wild rice. Creme brulee & molten chocolate cake to die for. What a talented young chef!

We had a wonderful dinner at Rafa's - the portions are large and the food is elegant. We had two appetizers (mushrooms with manchego and carpaccio), four entirely different entrees (filet, chicken, risotto and ravioli) and two deserts (creme brulee and chocolate mousse) and all were great. Even with the rather petty bread charge, the whole meal (including a bottle of wine) was 100 dollars total for four people. The place is small so make a reservation and get ready for a really special meal.

Rafael will prepare you a fine gourmet plate. All meals look special and have great appearance. The taste is perfection. A complete menu of great selections. You will leave satisfied. It is only one block from the Central Park.
