“Amazing Engineering”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2012

The Cathedral is located in central park, it is still an active catholic church however, you can go out to the back and look around within the massive complex of what once was a magnificent set of buildings. It is all ruins now but you can still admire the architecture and marvel at the structures left behind. You can also go through some of the creepy basements that the church had. If you are in central park Antigua, this is a must visit for you. Foreigners pay about 50 quetzales.

I loved seeing the ruins and learning what had happend hundreds of years ago. Its so interesting the way they are still having the upkeep of the place and how it basically has its original design.

“Day and night... a sight to see”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 19, 2012

At night it lights up so beautifully! Photos just don't do it justice. During the day, the façade is still beautiful but the ruins on the other side are far superior. The sky is so blue that the white stone in contrast seems larger than life. it is amazing. There is a catacomb type thing that when you take a photo, legend has it, you can seen the spirits of the dead in little white circles. It was pretty cool.

Inside, the church is beautiful and they have a sculpture of Jesus Chist. It is constructed in such a way that when standing right in his line of vision, you can feel all the emotion and see his tears. i al a small person and choose to believe that I wasn't in the correct line of vision.

Regardless, it is very much worth going!

Well worth the 25 cents admission and also the crypt. Beautiful work that has been done and more to go. Would go back there.

“Worth a visit..”

For about 3Q entry you get to see some pretty interesting ruins, including the crypt which was a neat experience. This place would have been absolutely amazing in its day.
