every painter in Antigua has painted it a million times, and they keep on doing it. i guess people just love it.

Local landmark and easily found. Part of local history and subject of many photos and paintings.

It's a yellow-painted arch which crosses a road. It's quite simple but lovely to look at, particularly from one direction, when on a clear day you can see a volcano behind it.

My husband and I were staying at La Posada de Don Rodrigo Hotel just next to the Arco the Santa Catalina. What can I say...any time of the day, morning, afternoon or night it makes for the best picture background in Antigua. Also, you can fantasized about all the nuns walking through 200 years ago!!!
