The photos of the hotel looked great but I was even more impressed than I expected when we passed through the nondescript gates onto the hotel property. The gardens of the hotel are perfectly groomed, filled with flowers and fountains and little surprises (check out the handles on faucets on the grounds - a frog, a firefly, etc.)

We stayed in garden rooms - a quiet porch with comfortable seating for four. The room itself was large and very comfortable - and all of the little details (art, design, great towels, down comforter, etc.) provided to make it a cozy spot with a feeling of rustic luxury. The fire was laid, just waiting for the cool evening (admittedly, a couple of nights weren't really cold enough for a fire, but I'm from Florida and enjoy a fire anytime!)

The restaurant was terrific, and provided room service. The outdoor sala is a nice alternative if you don't have the luxury of a garden room. Staff were consistently friendly and helpful.

Some describe the hotel as a "few minutes walk", or "6 blocks" away from the center of town. Not really! Certainly walkable to the main park, and being a bit out of the way provided very quiet nights and early mornings. Cabs were easy to get, took only 10 minutes to anywhere in town and cost only $3. Well worth it, rather than walking home at night after dinner near the Arch.

I've stayed in four star hotels that don't measure up to Quinta de las Flores. And about Hotel Casa Santo Domingo-- stopped just to see the grounds of the most expensive place in town. It was crowded with a convention (with the conventioneers wearing fake monks robes!) and very noisy. We were happy to return to the quiet grounds of Quinta. By the way - Quinta has a great pool. I didn't think it would be warm enough to swim, but the days are delightfully warm.

I'll be back in Antigua next month - and until my apartment is ready, will be staying at Quinta de las Flores!

we stayed in one of the new garden rooms - it was huge, with a working fireplace (great for the chilly evenings!) and a fantastic bathroom. the staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful, the food was delicious, and the grounds and gardens are simply gorgeous. we wouldnt hesitate to return.

We LOVE this gorgeous hotel in Antigua! It is on the outskirts of Antigua, towards Sta Maria de Jesus, but within walking distance of the main square and beyond. This hotel has an immaculate and luscious garden landscape, along with a magnificent pool and waterfall to cool you off after a walk around Antigua. The rooms are pristine, with beautiful Guatemalan textile bedspreads and artifacts. The courtyard walls are filled with various antiques and huipils that are stunning to see. You must stay here - it is a delightful respite and a treat!
