“Oasis in the city”

What a hidden gem. We stayed here for 4 nights in habitacion 14 which was absolutely wonderful. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous. It was so peaceful relaxing on the porch of our room or in the hammock by the pool. We basically walked everywhere in the city of Antigua from here. The staff was very helpful. Restaurant was fine. Nice that they have an internet room or we were able to get wifi on our phones close to the office. I would definitely stay here again.

La Quinta was our home away from home for eight days. The rooms were very clean and spacious with the most comfortable beds! The breakfasts were just delicious and were excellent value. The staff were very helpful and always available to assist at a moment's notice. Evenings were especially wonderful as guests have complete access to the gardens and outdoor living spaces. A very quiet place to come home to after a long day of exploring. Thank you La Quinta!

Lovely spot for a tranquil rest in the heart of Mesoamerica. Friendly staff, some English being spoken. Built on the ruins of 17th century public baths, with a lush choice of botanical species. Situated a bit further of the bustling town centre, right opposite the Belen convent. A bit difficult to find because of closed gates that actually have a 24/7 guard: you would just have to knock to get in. Outdoor pool, half-open reading space with wifi, restaurant serving traditional breakfast and a modest dinner. Spacious rooms with a fireplace, private terrace and shower, decorated with taste and a sense of tradition. Families with children are most welcome. Would love to go back and stay longer.

We stayed in Quinta de las Flores for five days in July, 2013. The hotel is just incredible. When you enter the property a big parking lot with nice garden surrounding welcomes you. The front desk is attached next to a nice souvenir shop with local crafts. A very efficient lady, Carmen, welcomed us, and in less than five minutes we were relaxing in our room. The room, aswell as the whole property, is decorated with local textiles and pieces of art.

The garden surrounding the hotel is just amazing, it makes you feel like you are in paradise. The small swimming pool is beautiful, it is not design for swimming so dont expect to excercise in it. Also the hotel had a very original children's playground, and many places to sit and enjoy the amazing views of the volcanoes surrounding Antigua.

The menu in the restaurant is not large, but it is just what I was hoping. Homemade meals, great prices, and an incredible view. The service overall is really good. Employees dont speak much english, but they try to do everything they can with a smile.

The hotel is not in the center of the town, but it is reachable in a lovely 10 minute walk. Sometimes in Guatemala you dont feel safe, but inside of Quinta de las Flores I felt like at home. I would recommend this hotel to absolutely anyone, and I am looking forward to return in the future.... Don't miss it!

Room Tip: If possible, choose a garden room.

Have been here now over two decades and met guests who have been coming for over 30 years and it is lovely and worth it but this year in the rainy season I was a pin cushion and in pain and it all but ruined the experience. The inn and gardens are lovely and romantic. The staff generally are warm and friendly. They NEED to spary better for bugs and especially when you pay a premium to have a private patio so you can sit outside and enjoy the gardens. Nothing is included so everything other than the basic room is an add on and you will need to HIKE a ways into town which is fine in the day if you are able BUT DO NOT DO SO after dark. Tuk tuks are $2 to $3 bucks but taxi cabs are $5 or more. Breakfast is fine here and staff is friendly but after dark they seem to get grumpy and seem to wish you and they both were off somewhere else partying. You can save on transport by eating there evenings but a bad trade off. You must make reservation direct and do so with Carmen at the desk. Be precise as to what you want. If you are only coming 2 or 3 days be precise or someone who has been coming for decades may well bump you out of your top rate room. Avoid being on the road with the traffic and monster buses in the morning or close to the kitchen. If you are a romantic or want to make a first class romantic impression on someone special stay here. It is a fair price for the quality of the place but there are No or few extras included in the basic room price.
Quinta de las Flores is truly memorable and unforgetable in fact but so are my limbs that
are masses of bite marks. One guest had to get Dengue Fever shots and one gardener was in late stages of Dengue Fever. The next few days I was at Lake Atitlan at an inn with lovely grounds and in the same rainy season and they had no bug problem. SPRAY for the bugs!
Bring your own industrial stength off bug body spray if you visit here in the rainy season!

Hopefully the owners and management will try to do something, anything about the BUGS!

After a busy day of walking, sight-seeing and shopping, it was a pleasure to return to "Quinta" to relax in the spacious common areas, set among the beautiful gardens. The servers in the dining area and bar were lovely and the food was good and plentiful. Our room was charming, with a lot of special touches.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is not on the road side of the property.
