Great place to get roof-top pix of volcanoes and surrounding area. Met people. Bought Nativity from Clara Rodenus, the artisan who paints your choice of pieces.

This church is one of the most recognized places in Antigua. It beautiful to look at and also a nice place to spend some time. There vendors all around selling food and souvenirs. There are usually people in traditional dress and kids passing by in the early afternoon. There are often weddings held there and it is always lovely to see the spectacularly dressed bride in front of the beautiful church. It is a great place to take photos too. The inside is also captivating, but of course you should be quiet when touring it. I have never been behind the church but I hear it is enchanting as well.

This church is just lovely, inside and out. You can walk in (quietly) throughout the day and they do not seem uneasy about photos. You can also pay Q5 (about 60 cents) to walk around behind the church to see a fountain and scenic views on the second level. Outside of the church, on the grounds, street vendors sell jewelry and woven goods, and it's nearly always bustling with activity. It's really one of the can't-miss tourist spots in Antigua.
