If you've shopped and walked the cobblestone streets of Antigua until your feet hurt, and you just need to catch your breath before heading for Refaction (afternoon coffee), then just rest in Central Park. To me, there's not better passive activity than just hanging out and meeting other English-speaking visitors. Our recent trip led us to converse with a New Zealand family, and an retired Canadian. Just don't ask too many questions!! :-) It's fun to hear their stories. And if you are looking for textiles or something from the walking vendors, it's a great place to elongate the bargaining process.
A TukTuk is also accessible from this location is you'd like to go to the edge of the city, or a horse-drawn carriage tour through the city. Lots of good information from the tour, but mild understanding of Spanish is required.

The Parque in Antigua is unique. In the shadow of the large Catholic Church, that looms in every Latin American town, there is a lovely fountain. I am sure it is in many Google photos. I am not sure of the intended symbolism but it is truly a work of art. Four dignified topless women in a circle, facing outwards, with the water from the fountain streaming from their nipples. Not sure how they got away with that statue in such a conservative society, but I applaud the artist and approvers.
The Parque is always bustling with people, dogs, musicians and vendors selling necklaces. It is a great place to sit and people watch and maybe get a shoe shine.

Not really a site, but a pleasant enough spot. It could do with a little street food or something to stay for.

This is the heart of Antigua. Surrounded by shops, banks, and cafes. This is a great reference point for any of your wanderings around town. You do not have to wander far to find great coffee and local art. If you want a better exchange rate for USD than at the airport, bring your money and your passport to a bank here- Citi bank does not make you fill out paperwork, the others do.
There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the scenery, usually a musician or two trying to make a Q, and street vendors may try to sell you something bust just smile and say "no gracias" and they will leave you in peace. Kick back and relax for a few.

Beautiful setting, with great people watching. A lot of roving vendors but they aren't very aggressive - and you can pick up cheap last minute souvenirs for $1. Great place for a Pollo Campero picnic.

Thank evening
