“a very relaxing place to sit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2013

The Plaza is beautiful, interesting and a very relaxing place to sit and watch the Antiguan life go by. You can get your shoes shined whilst cooling off with a refreshing fruit juice.
The Plaza is surrounded by shops and cafes and the centrepiece of the plaza sees a fountain with the water squirting out the nipples of the statues.

You can't miss it, you'll walk by it time and time again, and it's a great way to get your bearings after wandering the narrow, cobblestones streets.

“Central Park in Antigua Guatemala”

Very nice place to sit down an relax. There are many people here on the weekends and if you are a guy you can get your shoes shined here. Sometimes there are mimes that do a performance here.

“Antigua Part II”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 5, 2013

I had been here in 2006 and was very impressed with the overall infrastructure since I had traveled here. The roads and highways are impressive, especially through the mountains. The government has put many more people to work. Great job, hopefully we will see Guatemala as an emerging market in the near future. The coffee here is absolutely the best on earth! Sorry Columbia

“Parque Central”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2013

If you miss "Central Park" you have missed the life and heart of Antigua. Just keep walking around and you will find a seat to soak it all in. The locals that have jewelry and a bit of everything to sell are friendly and do not harass. I talked to the same one daily - see picture. It's all there and so much to see. Taxis have a corner. Public (pay) bathroom near. Restaurants on the square and 1-2 doors off each street of the square. Have also been there during Semana Santa. The color and processions are outstanding.

“The place to see and be seen”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2013

Always crowded and always busy. Very pleasant to walk around or sit down on one of many benches, relax, get a shoeshine, or simply watch people around you.
