This isn't a Marriot or Westin, but it's even better. Tons of charm in each room. The history of the building is worth finding out, and the grounds are beautiful. Climb to the top level and see a great view of Antigua. The breakfast was delicious, and they had free internet to use.

The location is right in the historic center.

This is a beautiful old hotel in the center of Antigua, just two blocks from the cathedral square (center of town), one block from La Merced and on the street of the "Arc". Service was great. Food was great. I enjoyed the cultural show in the hotel restaurant one night. Only complaint: if you leave the window open, there is a fair amount of light and noise. If you close it- no air circulation. I ended up leaving it open and blocking the light with a suitcase!! I think they should put a curtain or screen of some sort. BTW there was free computer/internet which I appreciated.

The service at Don Rodrigo was perfect from the moment we walked in. All the staff there were fantastic, they couldn't do enough for us. We got an upgraded room as we were on our honeymoon and it was stunning - like nowhere we'd ever seen before. It's so hard to describe, you have to see it to believe it.
We had dinner the first night and there was traditional Guatemalan dancing which we joined in with! The marimba band who play all afternoon and evening are great and give the place a real traditional feel (except they were right outside our room and didn't allow us to have an afternoon snooze!).
A fabulous and really unique experience. Antigua was the most culturally unique place on our trip, and the Don Rodrigo helped make it extremely special.

This hotel is one of my top five in Central America. For Antiqua it's on the expensive side $120 per night for two with Breakfast included but worth every bit.
The rooms are large with antiques and very comfortable beds, extremely clean, private, and quiet. The staff is like none other, always available to help and accommodate (they all speak good English).
The security in the hotel is non-intrusive but well trained. We never had a problem or even saw a problem in Antigua but you do feel well cared for at the hotel.
The restaurant was on the expensive side but quite good. All the food is natural and freshly made.
We stayed here for four nights and at the end of long days it was wonderful to go back to our room.

A tourist favorite with 3 vlocanoes surrounding the town; most notable is the water volcano which can be climbed in 2 to 3 hours. Plenty of markets (mercados) and beautiful ancient churches, convents, and hotels.

I stayed here for one night enroute from Lake Atitlan to Tikal (Antigua is only an hour from the Guatemala City airport if you aren´t travelling during rush hours). This hotel was recommended to me by my local Guatemalan guide and was a last minute booking.

Staff was very friendly and helpful.

For $80 I had a large room in a private courtyard with 4 other rooms. It had a small double bed and a small TV and a very nice and modern shower and separate toilet. There were no cupboards or hanging space but I didn´t need it. Being an old converted mansion, the soundproofing is not great, but that was the only downside to the place,

My 4:00 AM wake up call was punctual to the second.

The hotel is very central and there are loads of trendy bars and restaurants all around.
