I have to agree with every single praise addressed to this place. It´s run by guys who understand the essence of this "business" and you can easily feel it - by being truly welcome. It´s not flawless but it´s unique. They know why they call it A place to stay:)

The owner is really great person..he helpes us and gave us good suggestions...
th breakfast is 2 pancakes and one babana and it served NOT before 9 a.m (i was served at 10 a.m because were 10 people before me!)...so if you have to catch a bus in the morning, you won't have your breakfast...
the room are very simple and toilet have hot shower.
However the room could be more clean and the worst point is they don't have any locker! I travel with a computer and a camera and couldnt put them in a safe place..and the owner "don't like to take care of guests stuff" (thats is what he said to me!)
The hostel is really close to the bus terminal, but in the night is a dangerous area. Curfew at 23, so not the best place if you wanna go out for some drinks.
i had better hostel in latin america so far...
for the same price you can find better hostel in the city (or also cheaper)

The Place to Stay Hostel in Antigua is not what most backpackers expect from the norm Central American hostel, in the best way imaginable! It's a step outside of hectic travels into home cooked meals, open arms, and loving vibes. The hot water is a dream (real, real hot water) and the rooms simple and clean... What makes this place such a gem is the two owners who with open arms and hearts care so much about each person that your stay is far more than a good sleep and great breakfast! It's about connections, friends, and stories, all without the backpacker hype of party party party, it's simply elegant and perfect.. kick back some brew and a BBQ is always welcome! To add to the amazingness, the staff rescues Animals, adding just another element of sanctuary for tired travelers while the fat bunny romps around your feet or the kittens curl in your lap... Best part of my trip was Halloween with the crew here, most amazing stay of the entire tour all because of the genuine spirits behind the doors of Place to Stay!!!!! 5 stars every time!

It's the first time to write reviews. You know the reason if you come to be here. Above all they(all staffs including wonderful Raul and Fernando) know all things for travelers. What we want to feel, know and care. Specially about safety, We have experience to be stolen 2 times in Mexico. Here, they let us feel free and keep the safety. The location is pretty good too. The (chicken) bus terminal is located in 1 minutes from here. By walking to centro, it's ok. Two supermarkets are 3 minutes-distance, you cook together with friends all over the world. By them, you can get some alive informations. Don't forget to love some mascots here.

Room Tip: 2nd floors have less noise "Guate! Guate!" yelling(the bus want guests for Guatemala City) from the terminal
