At a business lunch with a party of 10, we had to wait for 80 Minutes until our Steaks arrived. Although partly compensated by the beautiful view, this was an unacceptable treatment. This Restaurant is to be avoided when it is busy.

5 of us went to Tenedor del Cerro for breakfast.

It took us 45 minutes to get a table. We thought that was a good
omen. We thought that the restaiurant was so good that the wait
must be worth the time.

While we were waiting we took in the beautiful views from the mountain
top.

When we got seated everything went down hill. It took
15 minutes to get our menus. Then, another 20 minutes to take our
order. The food arrived some 45 minutes after our order. That explains why
we and others had to wait 45 minutes for a table.

We all had eggs ranchero. It was cold when it arrived. Some ate it because they
were starving. Others tasted but did not finish their meal. The ranchero sauce
was bland at best.

This was a horrible dining experience.

This was well worth the (free) shuttle ride. The views from the top are amazing, as is the eclectic art that covers the grounds. There seemed to be too much to discover in one short visit -- it might warrant two. Seems like a perfect spot for large functions, but we also had a fantastic dinner with quick, attentive service, and very high quality food. For vegetarians, I especially recommend the black bean soup! Pizzas were good too.

From hotel Santa Domingo in the centre of Antigua, you can take a free 5 minute shuttle to the top of the hill, where this restaurant is situated. The ride itself is an attraction, as you sit in some sort of open pope mobile thing.

The grounds of Cerro de Santa Ines are covered with random art works and musea. All very interesting and strange, similar to the Santa Domingo Hotel (which is also worth a visit). Because it was wet season, we were recommended to go in the morning, as the views are the best. We were not disappointed. The clouds opened a bit and we could see the green hills and the town below, which was at 10 AM. If you would go earlier (the place opens at 7), the views would be even better.

The breakfast menu is extensive. There are the simple pancakes, fruit salads and waffles, but also the more elaborate Huevos Rangeros and other interesting egg dishes. All very cheap at around 50 Qs each. Coffee, juice and bread included for free.

Highly recommend going for breakfast!

I ate here twice when I was visiting my son in Antigua. The first time, he and I ate breakfast and the second time I had the Brunch Buffet alone.
Both times were top notch and I was impressed with the view, the service and the food.
I will be returning in late September with my wife and we will definitely be returning.

Try the Zipline tour as well. That was first class as well
