“Choco Tour with Kids”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2013

We took our kids, ages 3, 6, 8 and 18 to the ChocoMuseum and tour. It's totally worth it. It's educational, fun, interactive and tasty. Our guide was Pablo, who was excellent with the kids. It get's sold out, so you need to stop by a day in advance to sign up for a class/tour. It's a bit pricey ,but felt that it was good value.

“So delicious and so much fun”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2013

I highly recommend the classes here for a quick, fun activity that anyone can enjoy. In my home city, a truffle-making class like the one I took would cost a few times what Chocomuseo charges ($25US). The class was just myself and one other person and in two hours, we received a quick history of chocolate and overview of important processes like chocolate tempering and blending, and a chance to make three different sets of chocolates: filled chocolates, chocolate truffles and ganache shapes all with whichever ingredients I wanted like to add in to them (macadamia nuts, chili powder, sea salt, etc.) and the best part: they let you take all of it home after.

“Amazing experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2013 via mobile

Definitely get there early and sign up for a tour. You get make chocolate from scratch, from the cacao seed to the chocolate bar. But first Pablo explains the history of the cacao fruit and how it has impacted the world. The he very animatedly puts you through the process of making 70% chocolate or you have the option to make milkchocolate. He is very charasmatic and has a lot of knowledge about the uses of chocolate and its history. Dont miss this tour!

“Um, what is all the excitement about?”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2013

Honestly, I thought number one in this amazing city must be something special. Not so much. It reminded us of a 4H project at the state fair that got honorable mention. Really terrible customer service, we were there for 15 minutes and no one ever greeted us. Nothing we wanted to purchase either. There are so many lovely things to do in Antigua, Guatemala, this is a 5 minute stop at best.

“Chocolate heaven”

Pablo really knows his subject. Loved learning how chocolate was discovered and how they learned how to make the chocolate we enjoy today. Making the chocolate was fun too.
