Owner description: Cacao and chocolate museum in Antigua, Guatemala. Learn about the history of cacao, the cacao tree and cacao in Guatemala. ChocoMuseo has its own artisanal chocolate factory which makes chocolate from organic Guatemalan cacao beans. ChocoMuseo also offers chocolate workshops to make your own chocolate. A unique experience for the whole family.

I went to the museum and was slightly underwhelmed. There is a small room with info about the chocolate history and another small room where chocolate making classes can be booked. Maybe the classes deserve a better review.

There is also a lovely cafe as part of the museum with a pretty courtyard to relax in.

Thank A W

We discovered this absolutely wonderful museum / experience on our recent trip to Antigua. Schedule the complete tour in advance - they fill up almost every day! You will learn the complete history of chocolate, participate in every step in the process that takes a bean and processes it to the finished project, and have the fun of making your own chocolate to take home.

This is a lovely little place. You can take a guided tour, but it isn't necessary, since everything is very well labeled. I am familiar with the chocolate-making process, so did not participate in that. Their website describes a trip to a cacao plantation, but the woman I spoke with said it could only be booked with a large group. I had hoped to tag alone with some other group, but apparently if you're a solo traveler you're out of luck.

Thank you Pablo the Picasso of Chocolate! We had a blast learning and making our own chocolate. It was fascinating and hilarious! The chocolates I bought were pretty good (I think the experience was better than the chocolate actually), but I'm not sure I should've bought soooo much ;-)

Good Guide Boy!...he museum is slightly smaller. I think it's fun and unique way to learn more Cacao and its benefits. The place is accessible but very small for so many people
