“Total fun and Really well done!”

Finally an honest to,goodness cacao museum filled with information and free! You can also take a totally fun class and learn how to make your own chocolate from pod to palette!
Clara Isabel offers great insights and her staff is well trained and friendly. Of course you will want to bring home the chocolates and they are very fairly priced. For me the real winner is the cacao husk tea....I can't keep, enough at our hotel! We are so impressed with the quality that we have these products as stock items for our guests at our boutique hotel at Lake Atitkan and encourage them to spend a day in Antigua and time at the Cacao Museo!

“They make chocolate fun”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 1, 2012

I have been to other chocolate museum's around Europe and the UK that have nice displays, but your are involved in the chocolate making process at the ChocoMuseo so that makes the experience completely different. There is a great energy in the shop and very friendly staff and some zany frenchman running the show. A great experience all around and you get to take home your chocolate

“must stop in to try the cacao tea”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 30, 2012

Great chocolate infused teas. Also ask for the traditional roasted corn/milk/spices that guatemalans drink. But I recommend having it strained b/c the corn is roasted and ground but still hard to drink. But worth the experience. Takes little time and worth the visit.

“Do the chocolate class!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 30, 2012

a really fun and different thing to do - a chocolate cooking class. It only goes for 2 hours or, but you'll a lot about chocolate, its history and uses - and get to prepare your own chocolate from scratch, which you get to take home. I had a lot of fun and would def recommend it

“Wonderful little museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 29, 2012

Great little museum with an informative self guided tour of everything chocolate.. The complimentary samples are yummy as well! Didn't take the chocolate manufacturing/cooking class but it looked fun. Antigua needs more projects like this one; educational, informative, fun & well presented. With high quality CA products like coffee & cocoa, projects such as this one are
win win for all involved. Only complaint regarding the museum is that it casually glossed over the issue of child labor in the coffee fields, especially in Ivory Coast. The exhibit gave the impression that this issue was taken care of years ago by large intl chocolate/candy producers - however a recent documentary on CNN in January gives a slightly different & less rosy perspective on the ongoing problem of child labor in the cocoa fields of Africa.
