These guys know coffee! If you want your coffee strong and smooth, this is the place for you. Best cafe in Guatemala so far.

My wife is a coffee lover. She can be particular when it comes to coffee. Out of all our travel on this trip through the Americas, she hasn't commented positively on many of the coffees that she has drunk. Refuge was different. She thanked the barista personally for the cup as it was that good.

probably the best espresso bar in south and central america. there isnt a great deal on offer, but what they do is very good. if youre an aussie or kiwi and are missing a good espresso, make sure you visit and youll be sure go back every day. the coffee rivals the best melbourne has to offer. also, the owner and barista are very friendly and are always up for a chat.

The new Refuge location is amazing! First, the larger space gives it a hipster Seattle cafe vibe; second, they have added soy milk to the menu; three, it is a 2 min walk from The Terrace! It is the only place in town I can order my embarrassingly-complicated drink - soy cafe au lait - and the only place that does legit coffee art...it is a beautiful thing to look at your perfectly-crafted heart in the middle of your foamy drink every morning. Thank you to the Refuge baristas!
