This is truly a gem of a place to stay in Antigua, or perhaps unique to other parts of Central America. I have perused the text of the other five star reviews, and our experience and impressions were similarly positive, verging on superlative. The bedrooms and bathrooms will spoil you for the rest of your trip (unless you are prone to spending four times the price!). The two upstairs rooms are on a balcony with a view of the majestic volcano. Communal kitchen is great for enjoying your own food, such as supplementing the continental breakfast. Daniel is a world class photographer of some renown, and his photographs bedeck all of the walls. When we return to Antigua, we will not consider staying anyplace other than Chez Daniel.

Room Tip: Request second floor if you want the most impressive view of the volcano.

Large clean rooms with the biggest bathrooms during our travels around Central America. Breakfast of croissant and coffee in the morning was lovely, try the mango preserve it's totally scrumptious!

Daniel the owner was attentive and engaging making sure he was available at breakfast to answer any questions you may have on tours/restaurants etc. Marleni was fabulous from the initial booking to arranging our transfer from SPS and making sure we had a croissant and coffee for our early 4am shuttle to Antigua. She even helped us order take away when we didn't want to wander out for lunch due to the rain, nothing was too trouble for her!

The hotel is around 5-10 minutes walk to the main square in a quiet residential area, we always took a tuk tuk back at night for 2USD which we would recommend.

Overall a lovely stay in a beautiful hotel with lovely staff and owners, highly recommended!

We spent a week at Chez Daniel in August and loved it. The rooms are immaculate, the ambience is warm, and the tasty breakfasts were a nice plus. It's only a 5-10 minute walk from all the action in Antigua, but the hotel is quiet and well removed from the hustle and bustle.

We spent 5 nights staying at Chez Daniel and loved it. Our room was huge, the biggest bathroom I've ever seen. Daniel came down every morning without fail to chat about some options for things we could do that day, and offered to organise everything. He even offered that we could chip in on buying a huge groper fish fresh from the market, and he'd bbq it up for us for lunch. Was delicious! Not sure if that particular event happens often, but this just shows the extra lengths they are happy to go to to ensure you have a great time there, definitely helps you feel a bit more like a local than you would at a hotel/hostel. Daniels also an incredibly talented photographer, and he was happy to chat about his work and show us his portfolio, full of pics of life and locals from Central America and more. Great place, great guy, overall we loved it and look forward to getting back one day! Ant & Kara.

Our family seems to have grown by a factor of six after our weeklong stay Chez Daniel (late July-early Aug.) between Daniel and his staff and the friends we made among fellow guests.
Daniel, Marie-Helena and Marlini were warm and helpful hosts, free with their time (and persistent with airlines after our luggage went missing!) and suggestions about restaurants, comidors and activities in and around both Antigua and Lago de Atitlan.
The breakfast is simple yet generous; the rooms spacious and bright, particularly on the second floor facing the Agua volcano. Access to the common room and kitchen is open, and welcome at night after a long day touring and exploring Antigua. Daniel, who has lived in Guatemala for the past 30-some years, is an accomplished art photographer whose portraits and cityscapes grace the bedrooms and common room. We were happy to be able to purchase a photograph to bring home and have in our own home reminders of Daniel, his wonderful B&B and the beautiful people of Guatemala.

You won't find a better place to stay in Antigua.....A lovely B&B including the owners and staff.
The rooms are spacious, clean, with an artists touch. Start your day with a yummy cappuccino and warm crossiant. Daniel takes the time to visit each guest and ensure all needs are met. Marleni is attentive and knowledgable. A perfect 10 min. walk into town, this quiet hideaway is a real gem. We would highly recommend it.

Room Tip: 2nd story rooms have an incredible view of volcano!

Lovely bed and breakfast in a beautiful city. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit at Chez Daniel. The rooms are beautiful and custom made right down to the photographs on the walls. It was a real treat to have Daniel come to the table each morning and ask if we would like any suggestions for our touring itinerary or needed anything. We felt like a guest in his home. We had a very early morning flight and left at 4:30 A.M. all content with our morning cappuccino and croissant thanks to Marleni!
